#SolanaNonVoteTxHits8.92B $SOL
Solana’s 8.92B non-vote transactions in Q3 is a real record, but I treat it as a volume headline, not a health score. My view: activity can hold near this level, and the better test of sustainability is how much money each transaction brings in.
1. The number holds up
The official figure is 8.92B for Q3, up about 24% from Q2 (7.19B) and about 104% from Q4 2025. An independent index shows 8.78B versus 7.13B for Q2. The totals differ by under 2%, and the trend matches.
2. Non-vote doesn’t mean human
The filter removes validator votes, not bots. Transfers, arbitrage and spam all count, and one report notes the organic share remains unquantified. So I cross-check. One report has spot DEX volume up about 16.6% to roughly $197B and daily active addresses up about 12% to around 4.1M. Transactions grew 24%, so my math (mixed sources) says transactions per active address rose roughly 11%. That points to more intense or automated usage, not just more users.
3. Money per transaction is the better test
Per one protocol report, real economic value (fees and tips) rose 48% to $75.7M, and app revenue rose 48% to $299.1M. Transactions rose only 24%, so revenue per transaction improved by roughly 19% (my math, 1.48 over 1.24). Context matters: H1 network revenue was only about $141M, down 87% as memecoin fees collapsed (one report), so Q3 alone produced roughly 54% of the H1 total (my math).
4. Stable base versus speculative layer
Stablecoin supply near $17B (reports range from $16.8B to $17.5B) and about $263M of card payment volume (one report) are the non-speculative layer. But memecoins were still about a third of DEX volume in August, so the speculative layer hasn’t left. One report also says a roughly 40-minute routing failure in August took about 29% of staked SOL offline. Reliability stays a tail risk.
5. Price disagrees with usage
SOL has stayed near $104 in the latest reports I could verify, roughly 65% below its January 2025 high of about $295 (one report, my math). Record usage hasn’t lifted it, so the market is pricing monetization and supply, not transaction counts.
6. Levels (from my daily chart)
SOL 104.34 sits 5.1% under the shortest MA at 109.71, 6.8% above my support at 97.23, and 15.8% below my 120.82 line. RSI is about 41, and MACD is below its signal with a small negative histogram. Alpenglow, the consensus upgrade, has been targeted for Q3/Q4 2026. I haven’t seen a confirmed mainnet date, and upgrade timelines have slipped before.
My take: I think activity can hold around 9B per quarter if trading intensity persists. But I weigh revenue per transaction, stablecoin supply and payments more than raw counts. My lines are 97.23 and 109.71. A daily close above 109.71 would tell me the market is finally paying for usage, and a close below 97.23 would tell me it isn’t.
Not financial advice.
Do you trust transaction counts as a growth signal, or do you only look at revenue and stablecoins? And which holds first: 97 or 109?
