Not Every Long Trade Goes Green — And That's the Point
A trading journey isn't made up of winning screenshots alone. Some positions move in your favor, while others remind you why risk management has to come before profit targets.
My DOGEUSDT position was a 10x leveraged long, entered at 0.07899. At the time of my screenshot, the last price was 0.07880, and the displayed ROI was -2.36%.
The price difference may look small, but leverage makes even small moves worth paying attention to. This position was in the red when I captured it, and I'm sharing that honestly rather than presenting every trade as a success.
For me, the important question is not how quickly I can recover a loss. It's whether my original trade idea is still valid. If the setup is invalidated, I need to respect my risk limits instead of adding to a position just because I want to get back to breakeven. Chasing losses can turn a manageable setback into a much bigger problem.
This is also why I don't judge a trading strategy from a single position. I look at the quality of the setup, the risk taken, and whether I followed my plan. One losing trade doesn't define a trader, but ignoring the lesson can.
My Halloween trading lesson is simple: the market doesn't care about our expectations. Discipline means accepting that uncertainty is part of trading and protecting capital when things don't go as planned.
Sharing real trades, including the red ones, is part of learning to become a more consistent trader.
