Remember the bounce after Thursday's flush, when every green candle looked like the start of an altseason. By Monday, October 19, the energy has drained. I went through the charts of SUI near $1.00, AVAX near $9.73 and SOL near $105.33, and the technical picture is clear: the rebound is still alive, but it is running out of fuel.
The big picture in one line
Three coins bounced, none has reclaimed its key short-term ceiling, and indicator counts now lean bearish. That is what a rebound losing momentum looks like on a chart.
SUI: the sharpest fade
SUI is the clearest example. It traded at $1.23 on October 5 with RSI at 68.75 and an upper Bollinger band at $1.39. Today it sits near $1.00, about 19% lower, and its seven-day change is -10.55%.
Look at the trend structure. SUI fell 2.81% to $0.98 and trades below every short-term moving average, with $0.95 acting as the floor. The overhead is crowded: $1.01 is immediate resistance, then $1.04 where an EMA cluster and strong resistance overlap. Another tracker lists resistance at $1.05, $1.08 and $1.11.
Momentum is cooling, not collapsing. RSI(14) is 44.11, in the neutral-to-bearish range, and MACD reads -0.03, neutral. The sentiment count is the warning sign: 11 indicators bullish against 20 bearish.
If the floor breaks, an earlier Fibonacci map offers reference levels: the 0.382 level near $0.94 and the 0.236 level near $0.82. From $1.00, that is about 6% and 18% lower. The 200-day SMA near $0.86 adds a long-term anchor.
The surprise is on-chain. Peak TPS crossed 4,900 in October against about 1,100 in February, and daily transactions topped 53 million against roughly 10 million in earlier months. Usage is rising while price falls, and that gap usually resolves one way or the other.
AVAX: the quiet middle
AVAX at $9.73 looks calmer. Its seven-day change is -5.11%, roughly half of SUI's drop, and its 30-day change is still about +32%. The long trend is intact, and the short term has cooled.
But sentiment has tilted. 12 indicators are bullish and 19 bearish. The key level is support at $9.348, with potential for a rebound toward $11.112. From $9.73, support is about 3.9% below and resistance about 14.2% above, a reward-to-risk near 3.6 to 1 if support holds. That is the best ratio of the three, but it depends entirely on that floor.
SOL: the steadiest structure
SOL trades near $105.33, about 5% above this week's low near $100.43 and about 13% below the $121 level of October 5. Its chart has the cleanest ladder.
Support sits at $102.49 and $100.02, and resistance at $107.44 and $109.92, with a weekly ceiling near $112.43. Price is only about 2% below the first resistance. Momentum is soft: RSI is in the low 40s and the MACD histogram is flat, while the 200-day SMA near $87.52 is far below, which keeps the bigger trend intact.
SOL also has a calendar event. The Alpenglow upgrade is scheduled for October 21 and targets much faster finality. Upgrades are often priced in, so treat it as a volatility date, not a promise.
Scoreboard
SUI: weakest chart, strongest network data, key levels $0.95 and $1.04.
AVAX: calmest drop, best reward-to-risk, key levels $9.35 and $11.11.
SOL: cleanest structure, event on October 21, key levels $100 and $109.92.
Why momentum stalled
Altcoins follow Bitcoin, and BTC is flat near $81,600 after a volatile week. Without a push higher from BTC, rebounds lack buyers. The macro calendar adds hesitation: the Fed enters a quiet period, and the October 27-28 meeting is the next real test. Fading rate fears helped the bounce, but they have not produced a wave of new demand.
What restores momentum
SUI closing above $1.04. AVAX holding $9.35 and moving toward $10.50. SOL closing above $109.92. A broader trigger would be BTC reclaiming $82,500 to $83,000.
What confirms weakness
SUI below $0.95, AVAX below $9.35 or SOL below $100 would suggest the rebound has failed and this week's lows are in play again.
My plan
I am not chasing this bounce. I let each coin prove itself at its own resistance, keep size small, and use the support levels above as invalidation points. In a market like this, selectivity beats breadth.
Share your own levels and the coin you trust most below. I would like to compare notes with the Square.
