#GateBTCAndETHFuturesVolumeRanksTop3 #Bitdeer Bitdeer Sells Its Entire Weekly Output Again, Holdings Stay at Zero
THE HEADLINE
Bitdeer's weekly update on X says that as of October 16, its Bitcoin production for the week was 294.2 BTC, all of which has been sold, with a net increase of 0 BTC and holdings at 0, excluding customer deposits. With BTC trading near $81,650, that is roughly $24.0 million of coins sold in seven days, or about $3.4 million a day by my math.

FOUR-WEEK LOG

- Week to Sept 25: 288.1 BTC mined and 288.4 BTC sold.
- Week to Oct 2: 292.3 BTC produced and sold.
- Week to Oct 9: 300.6 BTC produced and sold.
- Week to Oct 16: 294.2 BTC produced and sold.

The pattern is consistent: production and sales match, and the net addition is zero. Over the last three weeks the total sold is 887.1 BTC, worth about $72.4 million at today's price. Output slipped 6.4 BTC, or 2.1%, from last week's 300.6, but it is up 1.9 BTC from the October 2 reading.

HOW THE ZERO IS DEFINED

Precision matters here. Bitdeer defines the zero balance as pure holdings, excluding customer deposits. It describes the company's own treasury, not every digital asset it may touch. One analysis also notes that the weekly post gives no sale proceeds or mining costs.

HOW THIS STRATEGY STARTED

This is not a sudden change. In February, Bitdeer reported zero holdings after selling 189.8 BTC of new output plus 943.1 BTC from reserves, following a $325 million convertible notes offering earlier that month. An August operations update listed 61 BTC held, and weekly updates since September show zero. The approach differs from other public miners that keep part of their output as treasury reserves. Bitdeer describes itself as a Singapore-based operator of both bitcoin mining and AI compute sites, which helps explain a preference for cash.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR THE MARKET

Direct price impact is small. About $24 million of weekly sales is only around 0.035% of the roughly $68.6 billion in daily BTC futures volume that CoinGlass tracked on October 16. The sales are also steady and predictable, so they do not look like a surprise dump.

The signal is about miner behavior, not market direction. Miners that sell everything are choosing liquidity over price speculation. That can reflect funding needs for operations, expansion or debt, and it shows the company is not betting on higher prices with its own treasury. Investors who watch miner flows should note that regular selling creates a steady, known supply, while changes in the sale pattern would be the real signal to track.

BTC TECHNICAL CONTEXT AT $81,650

- Trend: price is above the 50-day EMA at $80,443, the 100-day EMA at $76,824 and the 200-day EMA at $75,751, so the larger structure is intact.
- Upside: a daily close above $82,538 would strengthen the recovery toward $84,049 to $84,250.
- Downside: below $80,443, the next support areas are $80,206 and the recent sweep low near $79,694.

WHAT TO WATCH NEXT

1. Next weekly update from Bitdeer: whether output stays near 290 to 300 BTC and holdings remain at zero.
2. Any change in sales versus production, which would break the pattern.
3. Other public miners' reports, to see whether more of them move toward selling output.
4. The Fed meeting on October 27-28, which is the bigger macro driver for BTC.

BOTTOM LINE

Bitdeer sold all 294.2 BTC it mined this week and keeps its own holdings at zero. The routine is steady and small compared with daily market turnover, so it is unlikely to move BTC by itself. The more useful takeaway is that a major miner continues to treat Bitcoin as production to convert into cash, not as a treasury asset.
