Warsh Spoke. Now Bitcoin Has to Prove Its Strength.
Kevin Warsh's IMF fireside chat didn't deliver the clear rate signal some traders were waiting for. The Fed chair emphasized persistent inflation and the strength of the US economy, but refused to commit to the next interest-rate decision. The Fed already raised rates by 0.25 percentage points in September, and another hike remains possible.

My takeaway is simple: don't confuse the absence of a hawkish announcement with a dovish policy shift.

The market reaction is interesting. Bitcoin traded around $82,000 on Friday, while the dollar weakened as traders reduced expectations of an immediate rate hike. That gives risk assets some breathing room, but it doesn't confirm a sustained recovery.

Here's what I'm watching next.

If inflation stays hot, Treasury yields rise, and the dollar regains strength, Bitcoin could face another round of selling pressure. Higher rates can tighten liquidity and make speculative assets less attractive.

If inflation begins to cool and yields continue to ease, BTC could find room to recover. But I would still want to see buyers defend support, reclaim resistance, and sustain the move rather than chase one green candle.

Stocks face a similar balancing act. A resilient economy supports earnings, but persistent inflation can keep borrowing costs elevated and pressure valuations.

For me, the biggest question isn't whether Warsh sounded hawkish or dovish. It's whether the next inflation data forces the market to change its expectations again.

My view: Bitcoin's next move depends on the combination of inflation, the dollar, Treasury yields, and actual buying demand. One speech can shift sentiment, but it cannot guarantee a trend.

I wouldn't chase a rally simply because rate-hike expectations have eased, and I wouldn't open a short just because inflation remains a concern. Let price action confirm the macro story.

Let's discuss on Gate Square: Is BTC preparing for a recovery, or is this just temporary relief before the next volatility wave?
