The most significant signal right now is that persistent inflation necessitates a more "hawkish" (restrictive) stance in central bank policies. Volatility in the technology sector and the sideways movement of Bitcoin are side effects of interest rates remaining high for an extended period.

The most critical indicator is whether inflation will remain high enough to keep interest rates elevated for a prolonged duration. This directly impacts bond yields, the US dollar, technology stock valuations, gold, and interest in cryptocurrencies.

My approach is to trade based on the market's reaction to the data, rather than the headline figure itself. When inflation is high, the market's response—in terms of Treasury bond yields and expectations regarding the Federal Reserve (Fed)—can be far more significant than the inflation number itself.

Here is how this dynamic unfolds and what it means for your investment radar:

How Does Inflation Shape the Next Move?

With the annual CPI (Consumer Price Index) rising to 3.7%—driven by sudden spikes in energy prices and the stubborn persistence of housing costs—expectations for aggressive interest rate cuts have completely vanished.

* The Fed Threat: Markets are currently pricing in the possibility of one more 25-basis-point rate hike before the end of the year, or, at the very least, a scenario in which interest rates are held at their peak levels for a much longer period.

* Liquidity Contraction: High yields are drawing investors away from expensive and risky assets, limiting the upward momentum of high-multiple growth stocks and speculative crypto assets.

What’s on the Radar: BTC, Equities, or Gold?

1. Gold (Top of the Radar): In an environment marked by high inflation and geopolitical tensions, gold remains the best-performing asset by a wide margin. Capital seeking real returns—while looking for a "safe haven" free from the risk of declining corporate earnings—continues to flow into gold.

2. Tech Stocks (A Selective and Defensive Approach): The technology sector is generally under pressure due to rising discount rates. The strategy here is shifting away from growth stocks with high Price-to-Earnings ratios toward companies with strong cash flows and balance sheets capable of absorbing high debt costs. Until bond yields stabilize, steer clear of unprofitable tech companies.

3. Bitcoin (A "Wait-and-See" Approach): While BTC holding the $80,000–$82,000 range shows some resilience, the asset is currently trading more like a high-risk instrument—highly correlated with equities—rather than a pure hedge against inflation. Outflows from ETFs suggest that institutional investors are waiting for greater clarity on the macroeconomic landscape before committing to a new wave of gains. Updating Your Trading Plan

In a macroeconomic environment defined by high inflation, it is necessary to shift focus away from aggressive growth-seeking and toward capital preservation and trading within specific price ranges.

Tactical Execution Plan

1. Reduce Leverage and Duration: During periods of constrained liquidity, decrease your exposure to high-beta (highly sensitive to market movements) assets, such as unprofitable technology stocks and leveraged long positions in cryptocurrencies.

2. Treat Dips in Gold as Opportunities: During pullbacks triggered by temporary strengthening of the U.S. Dollar, build a position in gold—whether through physical gold, ETFs, or low-cost mining stocks.

3. Trade BTC Within a Defined Range: Consider the $80,000 level as your primary macroeconomic support. Instead of buying during sudden surges, look to enter positions near the lower bounds of the price range and employ tight stop-loss orders.

What would I trade?

My watchlist (not a definitive buy signal):

* Gold (XAU/USD): Wait for a clear breakout or a pullback that holds at a support level.

* BTC/USD: Wait for a definitive breakout from a specific price range, supported by trading volume and overall market sentiment.

* Equities: Seek stability before considering long positions; avoid chasing a declining market. My rule: If bond yields, price movements, and market sentiment are not in alignment, I either reduce my position size or stay on the sidelines rather than forcing a trade. Use pre-set stop-loss orders and avoid excessive leverage.
