and ask about the product. First, here’s what’s confirmed and what’s just framing.

1. The facts
Dr. Han is scheduled to speak at the Oxford Union on November 12, from 15:30 to 16:30 UTC. That’s 27 days from today (my math). The Union was founded in 1823 and is an independent student debating society, with Einstein among its past speakers. The announced themes are crypto, the future of money, and Gate Money.

2. What a stage like this is, and isn’t
It’s visibility, and a chance to reach students and people outside crypto. It isn’t a regulatory approval, an audit or proof that a product works. I’ve seen it described as a first for a trading platform. I couldn’t confirm that, so I’m leaving it out.

3. The numbers behind the pitch
Company materials cite 61M+ users, 5,300+ digital assets and 12,800+ stock assets. That’s about 2.4x more stock assets than crypto assets (my math). It’s a real shift from “crypto exchange” toward a multi-asset platform, but a listing isn’t the same as liquidity.

4. What Gate Money launched and what’s still planned
Launched on October 7: one account for crypto, fiat, gold, stocks and ETFs. In eligible regions, users can open a bank account in their own name, and QR payments work in some countries. Planned: expansion to the US, Europe, Dubai and Australia, and support for 60+ local currencies for receiving payments. Fine print: “eligible regions” and “planned” carry a lot of weight, so what you can actually use depends on where you live.

5. Challenges the CEO named himself
In a recent interview he said that moving into traditional finance means building partner networks like brokers, clearinghouses and custodians. He also said early overseas products were too complex, and that even with 24/7 stock tokens, liquidity outside regular market hours is still a barrier. I respect that candor, and it’s also exactly where the product will be tested.

6. The one question I’d ask
“Which Gate Money features are live in which regions today, who holds customer assets at each layer, and what’s the timeline for the rest?” An “everything app” only works if users know who is responsible for custody, banking and brokerage at each step.

My take: smart positioning, early product. The Oxford slot helps reach people who don’t read charts, but the product will be judged on regional availability, liquidity at odd hours, and clear disclosure on custody. A good talk earns attention, and clear answers keep it. I’d measure this by what actually ships in the six months after November 12.

Not financial advice.

What would you ask Dr. Han? And do you think a multi-asset “everything app” is where platforms end up, or does specialization win?
