#GateWCTCS9全球交易赛 Everything I Found, in Plain Words
Gate's World Crypto Trading Competition is back for Season 9, and I went through the announcements so you don't have to. Here's the stuff that actually matters.
When does it happen?
Registration opened on October 9 at 16:00 and runs until October 26 at 16:00 (UTC+8). The competition itself runs from October 26 at 16:00 until November 25 at 16:00 (UTC+8). So the main event is a full month, and it hasn't started yet. There's still time to get ready.
How big is the prize pool?
Up to 6,000,000 USDT, unlocked dynamically based on the number of valid traders. The words "up to" matter. The pool grows as more people qualify, so the final size isn't fixed.
The split, as announced:
- Team competition: up to 3,200,000 USDT.
- Individual competition: up to 400,000 USDT.
- WCTC Lucky Launchpad: 725,000 USDT.
- Global Trading Carnival: 1,000,000 USDT, plus a fixed bonus of 275,000 USDT.
What can you trade?
It's multi-asset. The competition spans Spot, ETF, Convert, Stocks, Futures and TradFi. The team rankings include total platform trading volume, CFD trading volume, and profits.
How do you join?
You can register automatically by logging in to Gate and entering the WCTC campaign page. You can also create or join a team there.
Is it popular so far?
Looks like it. In its first 24 hours, WCTC S9 drew over 21,000 registrations and 2,454 squads. Team play is clearly the main attraction this season.
Is there anything to do before the main event?
Yes, a few side events are running:
1. Warm-Up Trading Competition. This one offers 50,000 USDT, and you need 20,000 USDT in cumulative eligible futures volume to enter the leaderboard. One important detail: separate registration is required, and warm-up volume will not count toward the main competition.
2. Event Contracts trading event. It runs from October 11 to October 21 (00:00 UTC), and the top winner is eligible for up to 2,200 USDT. Gate also says it is the first platform to offer Stock Event Contracts.
3. Prediction market campaign. As of October 12, its total prize pool reached 64,522 USDT, and the top user was expected to receive 7,078 USDT.
My quick checklist
- Register before the deadline on October 26.
- Decide if you'll play solo or with a squad.
- Read the rules of each track before trading it.
- Remember warm-up trades don't carry over.
One honest reminder
Big prize pools look exciting, but trading competitions push people toward higher volume, and higher volume means higher risk, especially with futures. Only trade what you understand and can afford to lose. Prize amounts can change, so always check the official rules.
