✨ Markets remain tense as a pivotal week continues, with Fed Chair Warsh set to speak before the central bank's pre-meeting blackout period.

🔹 Today's data confirmed that inflation pressures are broadening, while consumer demand remains resilient. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is scheduled to speak at the IMF annual meeting in Bangkok on Friday, offering a final policy signal before the October 27-28 FOMC meeting.

📊 The data on the table:

🔹 PPI: September rose 1.3% MoM (forecast: 0.6%) and 6.3% YoY (forecast: 5.3%). Core PPI rose 0.7% MoM (forecast: 0.3%).
▪️ Retail Sales: September rose 0.8% MoM (forecast: 0.3%), following an upwardly revised 1.3% for August.
▪️ Jobless Claims: 199K, matching forecasts, indicating a labor market that remains historically tight.
▪️ Empire State Manufacturing: Surged to 25.5 (forecast: 12.1), the highest in nearly five years.

⚖️ Market response so far:

🔹 Treasury Yields: The 10-year yield plunged 13.7 basis points to 5.053%, a three-week low. The 2-year yield fell 7.9 bps to 4.723%. Safe-haven demand from a global equity selloff outweighed the hot inflation print.
▪️ Dollar Index (DXY): Pulled back to approximately 102.03, erasing post-CPI gains.
▪️ Gold: Rebounded above $4,150, up over 1%, as falling yields supported the metal despite hot inflation.
▪️ Bitcoin:Slid 3.6% to near $81,500, with a 24-hour low of $80,443. The $80,000 level remains a critical support zone.
▪️ US Equities: Nasdaq 100 futures fell about 1.3%. South Korea's KOSPI plummeted 7.57% and Japan's Nikkei dropped 4.90% in the prior session, reflecting broad risk aversion.

⚖️ Structural perspective:

🔹 From a long-term structural perspective, the divergence between hot inflation data and falling Treasury yields is the key signal. Capital is moving defensively into bonds and gold, prioritizing safe-haven positioning over rate-hike bets. The October rate hike probability has jumped from about 20% to nearly 50%, but the Treasury market's reaction suggests investors are more focused on growth risks than inflation.

▪️ Fed Chair Warsh has previously emphasized that transparency in communicating future policy decisions is not a virtue in itself. His Bangkok speech will be closely watched for any signal on how the Fed weighs inflation risks against a gradually tightening approach.

▪️ The Fed enters its media blackout period on Saturday, making Warsh's remarks the final official window for policy communication before the October meeting.

🔹 I'm staying in watch mode here, monitoring BTC, Gold, Silver, and XRP as the market digests this dense data set. The next move will hinge on Warsh's tone and how Treasury yields respond.
