#AnthropicDisclosesQ3Revenue

Anthropic’s latest numbers make one thing clear: AI is becoming a serious business, not just a story investors are excited about. But when a company starts targeting a potential $2 trillion IPO valuation, I think the real question shifts from how fast it is growing to how much of that growth is already reflected in the price.

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, reported Q3 2026 revenue of $16.8 billion, up 45% from $11.6 billion in Q2. Revenue was $4.7 billion in Q1, showing how quickly its business has expanded this year. The company also reported adjusted profitability at its pre-IPO investor meeting, adding another important dimension to its growth story.

What interests me most is where that demand comes from. AI tools are becoming useful for coding, research, business analysis and everyday workflows. If companies continue paying for these capabilities because they save time and improve productivity, Anthropic could build a business with revenue that extends well beyond the initial excitement surrounding AI.

However, strong revenue growth does not automatically justify any valuation. At a potential $2 trillion, investors would be paying for expectations of enormous future expansion. Computing infrastructure, model development and long-term investment commitments can consume substantial capital, even when revenue is rising quickly. The company needs to demonstrate that growth can translate into durable profits and sustainable cash flow.

I would also pay attention to the pace of growth itself. Revenue rose from $4.7 billion in Q1 to $11.6 billion in Q2, then to $16.8 billion in Q3. The business is still expanding rapidly, but the percentage growth rate has slowed from the previous quarter. That does not mean demand is disappearing; it means investors need to examine the actual numbers rather than assume the earliest growth rate will continue indefinitely.

My view is that Anthropic deserves serious attention, but the IPO valuation deserves even more scrutiny. I would study the final offering price, revenue quality, infrastructure costs and financial disclosures before considering an investment. A successful AI company can still become an expensive stock if investors pay too much upfront.

The opportunity is real, but so is the risk of pricing in years of future success before that success has fully materialized. For me, the best investment case would be one where Anthropic can keep growing while improving its economics, rather than relying on AI enthusiasm alone.
