#StrivePlans500MillionRaiseToBuyMoreBitcoin 32,773 BTC Treasury Meets a New $500 Million Funding Plan
Strive is expanding its Bitcoin strategy through two major developments: a fresh 3,311 BTC acquisition and a proposed $500 million preferred-stock offering. Together, these moves highlight how corporate Bitcoin holders are using capital markets to expand their treasury positions while managing the costs of financing that growth.
According to Strive’s October 13, 2026 SEC filings, the company purchased 3,311 BTC between October 5 and October 9 at an average price of approximately $84,500 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses. Its total holdings reached 32,773 BTC as of October 9.
The latest purchase is significant because it represents Strive’s largest increase in Bitcoin holdings since its acquisition of approximately 5,048 BTC through its all-stock merger with Semler Scientific.
The $500 Million SATS Offering
Strive has announced plans to offer 5 million shares of its new 15% Series A Perpetual SATS Preferred Stock at $100 per share, targeting $500 million in gross proceeds.
The proposed offering introduces another financing option for the company’s Bitcoin treasury strategy. However, the proceeds are not exclusively earmarked for Bitcoin purchases. Strive may also allocate capital to working capital, income-generating assets, business acquisitions, capital expenditures, and repurchases of common or preferred shares.
This distinction matters: the proposed $500 million raise represents potential funding capacity, not a confirmed $500 million Bitcoin purchase.
The Cost of Financing Bitcoin Growth
SATS carries a stated annual dividend rate of 15% on its $100 stated amount per share. If all 5 million shares are issued and the dividend is declared in full, the annualized dividend obligation would be $75 million.
Strive also intends to establish a reserve equal to the first 18 months of dividend payments, equivalent to $22.50 per share, or $112.5 million for the full proposed offering.
These figures show why investors need to evaluate both sides of the strategy. Additional financing can support Bitcoin accumulation, but preferred dividends create recurring obligations that must be considered alongside future treasury growth.
Cash Reserves and Treasury Expansion
Strive reported $310.3 million in cash and cash equivalents as of October 9, up from $284.7 million a week earlier. During the same period, its Bitcoin holdings increased from 29,462 BTC to 32,773 BTC.
The company’s reported position therefore combines a growing Bitcoin treasury with a cash reserve that can support liquidity needs and other corporate objectives.
The key question is how Strive will balance future BTC purchases against dividend reserves, operating requirements, and the cost of raising additional capital.
Investors should watch whether the SATS offering closes successfully, how much of the net proceeds is actually allocated to Bitcoin, and how the company manages its preferred-dividend obligations.
Another important measure is Bitcoin accumulation per share. Increasing total BTC holdings does not automatically mean every shareholder benefits equally, particularly when new securities are issued to fund expansion.
Strive’s strategy presents a clear trade-off: access to additional capital can accelerate Bitcoin accumulation, but sustainable growth depends on the cost of financing and disciplined capital allocation.
Will Strive’s proposed $500 million SATS offering strengthen its position among public Bitcoin treasury companies, or will the 15% dividend cost become a bigger challenge as the strategy expands?
