🔹 Michael Saylor's Strategy acquired 250 BTC for approximately $21.5 million between October 5 and 11, at an average price of $86,194 per coin. Total holdings now stand at 848,250 BTC, representing roughly 4.04% of Bitcoin's fixed maximum supply. The cumulative acquisition cost reached $64.0 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,444 per coin.
📊 The capital flows behind the headline:
🔹 Bitcoin purchase: $21.5 million, funded primarily through MSTR at-the-market sales (125,183 shares for $21.0 million) and $0.5 million from cash reserves.
🔹 **STRC repurchase:** $192.4 million spent to buy back 1,932,145 shares of STRC floating-rate preferred stock — nearly 9x the amount allocated to Bitcoin.
🔹 Remaining capacity: $354.8 million available under the preferred repurchase program, plus $1.0 billion under the MSTR repurchase program.
🔹 Dollar reserves: $4.88 billion in USD Reserve and $640.5 million in USD Cash as of October 11.
⚖️ Structural perspective:
From a dialectical and long-term perspective, this allocation pattern reflects a structural prioritization of balance-sheet management over treasury expansion. STRC is a perpetual preferred share with a $100 stated value and a variable 12% annual dividend. Strategy has a standing policy not to issue new shares below $100 par. STRC traded below that line for nearly five months, bottoming near $71 in late June.
During that period, the company's preferred financing channel was effectively closed. The response was to deploy capital into buybacks, absorbing supply and working to restore STRC toward par. The current data shows this approach has brought STRC back to approximately $99.80, near its $100 reference level.
The structural question that follows is whether this stability can be sustained by independent demand after the buyback program is exhausted, or whether it remains dependent on continued balance-sheet deployment.
💬 When evaluating corporate Bitcoin strategies, do you focus on treasury accumulation or the structural integrity of the funding mechanism behind it? 👇
