WCTC S9: 6,000,000 USDT Maximum Prize Pool, Team Battles and Individual Trading Rankings The Competition Is About More Than Volume

Gate’s World Crypto Trading Competition Season 9 is officially underway, bringing together crypto traders and multi-asset participants for a competition built around team performance, individual rankings and rapid BTC price-prediction battles.

With registration open from October 9 to October 26, 2026, WCTC S9 offers multiple ways to participate. The key is understanding how the competition works, which trading activity qualifies and what is required to compete for rewards.

A prize pool of up to 6,000,000 USDT

The headline prize pool can reach 6,000,000 USDT, but the maximum is not guaranteed. The competition rewards pool unlocks dynamically according to the number of eligible participants and their qualifying activity.

The maximum allocation includes:
- Team Competition: up to 3,200,000 USDT
- Individual Competition: up to 400,000 USDT
- BTC/USDT Event Contracts PK: up to 400,000 USDT
- Fixed activity rewards: 2,000,000 USDT

A registered participant who generates at least 5,000 USDT in qualifying weighted trading volume during the competition counts toward the eligible-trader threshold used to unlock the prize pool. Actual rewards depend on the final pool, ranking, qualification rules and review.

Team competition: performance and coordination

The team leaderboard offers up to 3,200,000 USDT. A qualifying team needs at least five members: one captain and four additional members.

The competition has two stages:
- First half: October 26–November 10
- Second half: November 10–25

Each stage is ranked and settled separately. The team prize distribution considers platform-wide trading volume, CFD volume and team profit. Within each half, these categories account for 60%, 20% and 20% of the respective team prize pool.

This means a team should understand the leaderboard it is targeting instead of assuming that high trading volume alone guarantees the best result. Individual members must also meet the relevant thresholds to qualify for internal rankings and rewards.

Individual competition: qualifying volume matters

The individual competition offers up to 400,000 USDT in rewards. Eligible activity spans supported products including spot, ETFs, Convert, stocks, futures and TradFi products.

To qualify for the individual total-volume leaderboard, a participant needs at least 20,000 USDT in converted qualifying trading volume. The top 300 participants share the unlocked prize pool according to their rankings, while participants ranked 301st–1,000th may qualify for futures position vouchers, subject to the official rules.

The important distinction is that qualifying volume, ranking position and reward eligibility are separate requirements. Reaching a volume threshold does not automatically guarantee a payout.

BTC/USDT PK battles: short rounds, fast decisions

WCTC S9 also introduces BTC/USDT Event Contracts PK matches. The format pairs participants in short, five-minute price-prediction rounds scheduled at 30-minute intervals.

A positive net profit in a valid round earns a win and leaderboard points. The PK prize pool can reach 400,000 USDT, but participants must complete at least one valid round, meet the required cumulative volume threshold and qualify under the relevant ranking rules to receive leaderboard rewards.

Short-duration predictions demand discipline. Volatility can move quickly, and a correct market view is not guaranteed to produce a profitable outcome.

Gate Square community campaign: an additional opportunity

The WCTC S9 community campaign has a separate 50,000 USDT reward pool, alongside GT rewards, Gate merchandise, VIP trial benefits and visibility opportunities.

Community participation includes team recruitment, sharing genuine competition results and publishing useful trading analysis. Originality, relevance, analytical quality and authentic information matter; repeated or irrelevant posts and fabricated trading records can invalidate participation.

For traders who want to contribute beyond the leaderboard, this creates a separate route to participate through useful content and community engagement.

My approach to WCTC S9

I would begin by reading the eligibility rules, choosing a competition format that matches my experience and setting a clear risk limit before trading. I would track qualifying volume and ranking requirements carefully rather than increasing trade size simply to chase rewards.

A large prize pool attracts attention, but the maximum allocation is conditional, and trading involves price volatility, liquidity risk and potential losses. Competition rewards should never be treated as guaranteed income.

WCTC S9 brings together team coordination, individual performance and rapid market decisions under one multi-asset competition. The real challenge is to understand the rules, execute consistently and manage risk throughout the event.

Registration runs until October 26, 2026, at 16:00 UTC+8. The main competition runs from October 26 to November 25, 2026, at 16:00 UTC+8.
