Semiconductors: Not Just an AI Boom, but a Market Valuation Test! 🧠📈

Markets are often captivated by revenue growth, but experienced investors look at a more important question: can demand for AI chips justify already-high stock valuations?
TSMC has recorded approximately 50% year-on-year revenue growth in the third quarter. Next, TSMC’s report on October 15 and ASML’s report on October 14 will be important tests for optimism in the semiconductor sector.
However, there is a frequently overlooked risk: strong business growth does not necessarily mean that stock prices are still cheap. If chip equipment orders, profit margins, and 2027 investment projections fail to meet expectations, stocks could correct even if company performance remains positive.
My view: fundamentally bullish, but still selective regarding valuations. My focus is not only on revenue figures, but also on the sustainability of AI spending and companies’ ability to turn demand into real profits.

Bullish, but I only dare to buy TSMC; equipment suppliers’ valuations depend too heavily on order visibility, making them too volatile.

2027 capex guidance is key; buying now is betting on demand three years from now, not current performance.

TSMC’s Q3 figures are indeed impressive, but whether 50% growth can support its current valuation depends on whether its capital expenditure guidance and gross margin can hold steady.

ASML's order bookings are more important than revenue; if EUV orders decline, the entire AI narrative will need to be reassessed.
