Gate WCTC S9: A 6 Million USDT Trading Challenge — Everything Participants Need to Know
Three competition tracks, multiple financial markets, and a global prize pool of up to 6,000,000 USDT. Gate WCTC S9 brings together traders competing individually, working in teams, or testing their market-direction skills through event contract PK battles.
But the headline number is only the beginning. Registration, trading-volume thresholds, team eligibility, reward allocation, and campaign tasks all determine what participants can actually earn.
1. Registration and Competition Dates
The campaign runs from October 9, 2026, at 16:00 until November 25, 2026, at 16:00 (UTC+8). Registration closes on October 26 at 16:00, when the main competition begins.
The competition has two periods: October 26–November 10 and November 10–November 25. Team rankings and rewards are calculated separately for these periods under the official rules.
To register, log in to Gate and visit the official event page. Your first visit automatically registers you and provides one free Lucky Launch opportunity. Identity verification is required to receive rewards.
Official page: https://www.gate.com/competition/wctc-s9
2. Team Competition: Up to 3,200,000 USDT
Team trading is the largest main competition track. You can create a team as captain or join an existing team, but at least five members are required for team leaderboard eligibility.
There are three team rankings: platform-wide trading volume, CFD trading volume, and profit. The allocated team reward pool is divided 60% toward platform-wide volume, 20% toward CFD volume, and 20% toward profit. The first competition period receives 45% of the overall team pool, while the second receives 55%.
For each leaderboard's allocated pool, first place receives 15%, second place 10%, and third place 7%. Teams ranked fourth through tenth share 20% equally, ranks 11–20 share 18% equally, and ranks 21–50 divide 30% according to eligible trading-volume contribution.
The internal distribution also matters. The captain receives 20% of the relevant team reward. The top 10 eligible contributing members, excluding the captain, share 40% equally, and the remaining eligible members share the other 40% equally.
Qualification thresholds differ by leaderboard. The platform-wide ranking requires a team member with at least 20,000 USDT in eligible converted volume; the CFD ranking requires at least 50,000 USDT in CFD volume; and the profit ranking requires at least 20,000 USDT in qualifying volume and non-negative eligible profit. Members must also meet applicable personal requirements to receive team rewards.
The captain of the leading team on the platform-wide trading leaderboard can also qualify for a custom gold medal valued at 30,000 USDT. This is a physical prize, not 30,000 USDT in cash. Captains may additionally qualify for exclusive bonuses of up to 1,000 USDT through specified team-building milestones.
3. Solo Competition: Up to 400,000 USDT
Independent traders can compete on the solo trading-volume leaderboard. The minimum qualifying converted volume is 20,000 USDT, and rewards are available to the top 300 eligible participants, depending on the prize pool unlocked.
The published allocation gives first place 15%, second place 10%, and third place 7%. Ranks 4–10 share 20% equally, ranks 11–50 share 18% equally, and ranks 51–300 receive a proportional share of 30% based on eligible trading volume.
If the full 400,000 USDT pool is unlocked, first place's 15% allocation would equal 60,000 USDT. Actual rewards depend on the pool available and the final ranking.
Separate futures position vouchers are available for ranks 301–1,000. Ranks 301–400 receive 150 USDT each, ranks 401–600 receive 100 USDT each, and ranks 601–700 receive 50 USDT each. Ranks 701–1,000 share a 20,000 USDT voucher allocation according to qualifying volume, capped at 50 USDT per person. These are trading vouchers with applicable restrictions, not freely withdrawable cash.
4. Event Contract PK: Up to 400,000 USDT
This track introduces head-to-head competition based on short-term BTC/USDT market direction. Participants are randomly matched, and each session lasts 30 minutes, covering up to six consecutive five-minute event contract markets.
A market counts as a win when qualifying trading reaches at least 10 USDT and the combined settled net profit for that market is positive. Each market can contribute only one win, even if multiple trades are placed.
Winning a round earns 100 points. If both participants record winning markets but finish tied, each receives 30 points; a tie without any winning markets awards neither participant points. Consecutive winning rounds can earn additional points: three consecutive wins add 150 points, and five consecutive wins add another 200 points at the specified milestones. A loss or draw resets the winning streak.
To qualify for PK leaderboard rewards, participants must complete at least one valid round, accumulate at least 5,000 USDT in eligible converted volume during the competition, and finish within the top 300 eligible participants.
The pool follows the published allocation structure: 15% for first place, 10% for second, 7% for third, with the remaining specified portions distributed among ranks 4–300. The full first-place equivalent of 60,000 USDT depends on unlocking the maximum pool.
5. Which Trades Count?
WCTC S9 covers several eligible trading categories. The published conversion weights are:
- Spot, ETF, and Convert: 150%.
- Stocks and event contracts: 200%.
- Futures and other qualifying contracts: 100%.
- Options: 50%.
- CFD: 5%.
For example, 1,000 USDT of eligible spot trading contributes 1,500 USDT in converted volume, while 1,000 USDT of eligible futures trading contributes 1,000 USDT. These weights affect competition calculations, not your actual profit.
Platform-wide and solo volume rankings exclude CFD volume, which is measured separately for its dedicated leaderboard. Always check the individual track's rules. Unfilled orders, cancelled orders, transfers, and activity flagged as abnormal do not qualify.
6. The 6 Million USDT Prize Pool Explained
The maximum advertised pool consists of 3,200,000 USDT for team competition, 400,000 USDT for solo competition, 400,000 USDT for event contract PK, and 2,000,000 USDT for fixed campaign rewards.
The main competition pools increase according to valid trading-participant milestones, reaching their maximum allocations at 500,000 valid participants. A participant qualifies toward this count after reaching at least 5,000 USDT in converted trading volume during the competition. The applicable pool tier depends on participation; the different tiers do not stack on top of one another.
The additional 2 million USDT campaign pool includes activities beyond the three main leaderboards.
7. Lucky Launch and Additional Rewards
The Lucky Launch Zone advertises a 725,000 USDT prize pool. Your first event-page visit after logging in gives you one free opportunity. Further opportunities can be earned through qualifying daily trading tasks, first-time product activities, VIP milestones, sharing, and referrals.
Examples of published daily activity thresholds include 500 USDT in spot volume, 1,000 USDT in futures volume, 300 USDT in stock volume, and 100 USDT in certain qualifying Alpha or Idle Money Treasure activities. Other tasks have their own conditions.
Sharing the event may provide another opportunity. Eligible referrals can earn one opportunity each, up to six, when the invited user registers and completes a first futures trade of at least 100 USDT. The prize selection may include USDT, tokens, futures position vouchers, fee-rebate vouchers, stock-related rewards, and merchandise.
Other programs include a 1,000,000 USDT Global Trading Carnival pool, a 200,000 USDT new-user reward pool, a 20,000 USDT team-milestone pool, a 5,000 USDT early team-formation pool, and a 50,000 USDT Gate Live reward pool.
Eligible new users or first-time futures traders may qualify for a 20 USDT futures position voucher after completing a first futures trade of at least 2,000 USDT, subject to the campaign conditions and the first 10,000 qualifying participants.
Team milestones reward eligible teams that reach specified effective-user targets, while the early team-formation program rewards the first 30 teams to reach 50 members. Gate Live activities may offer additional vouchers, tokens, stock-related rewards, or merchandise. Each program has separate requirements and availability.
8. Eligibility, Disqualification, and Reward Settlement
API users, VIP 15 and above, market makers, corporate and institutional accounts, and sub-accounts are excluded under the published rules. Multiple accounts linked to the same identity verification are treated as one participant, and sub-account volume does not count toward the main account.
Wash trading, self-trading, manipulation, mass account registration, fake sharing, and attempts to exploit system vulnerabilities can result in disqualification. Regional product restrictions may also apply.
Rewards are scheduled for distribution within 15 business days after the competition ends and the review is completed. Individual settlement rewards below 1 USDT will not be distributed. Vouchers have their own validity periods and usage conditions, while physical prizes may require additional arrangements.
My Take: Compete With a Plan, Not Just a Target
WCTC S9 offers different routes for different trading styles: team rankings for collaborative traders, solo rankings for independent participants, and event contract PK for those interested in short-term direction.
The smartest first move is to understand your chosen track, verify your eligibility, and learn exactly how qualifying volume is calculated. Do not increase trading frequency or leverage simply to chase a leaderboard. Fees, volatility, and liquidation risk can easily outweigh a potential reward.
The 6 million USDT figure represents the maximum available across the competition and its associated campaigns, not a guaranteed payout to participants. Read the official terms, check your progress, and keep risk management ahead of rankings.
