#BitmineAddsMoreETH,HoldingsTop6.01M
My view: I hold a bullish outlook for Ethereum strategically, yet the risk for BMNR shareholders is steadily increasing.

The critical point is this: BitMine currently holds 6,016,414 ETH—representing approximately 4.9% of the total ETH supply—and is roughly 89,000 ETH away from reaching its 5% target. Approximately 5.07 million ETH are currently staked, and management projects an annual staking revenue of around $363 million.

Why am I bullish?

* Institutional commitment: The weekly ETH purchases since June 2025 strongly signal that BitMine views ETH as a long-term treasury asset rather than for short-term trading.

* The yield factor changes the equation: Unlike a passive ETH investor, BitMine generates an additional revenue stream by staking the majority of its holdings.

* The 5% milestone is significant: Reaching the 5% level could grant BitMine an extraordinary position within the Ethereum supply and reinforce the thesis that ETH serves as an institutional treasury asset.

* Supply dynamics: If demand for ETH rises—driven by staking, tokenization, and on-chain financial activities—while large institutional investors continue to accumulate the asset, the long-term outlook could be positive.

However, there is a significant "but."

The most recent purchase volume was only 15,112 ETH; this represents a decline compared to the previous week's purchase of 17,362 ETH. The pace of acquisition is slowing as BitMine approaches its target. Furthermore, holding nearly 5% of the ETH supply creates a concentration risk. Should the price of ETH experience a significant drop, the value of BMNR's underlying asset base would decline accordingly. Another factor shareholders should consider is the relationship between BMNR's market capitalization and the value of its ETH holdings; the stock may trade at a premium or a discount relative to the value of the crypto assets it owns.

Therefore, I would not simply interpret the situation as "BMNR keeps buying ETH, so BMNR stock must rise." The truly interesting question is: Can BMNR increase the amount of ETH held per share and generate enough staking or treasury income to justify its current valuation? In summary:

ETH thesis: bullish
BitMine strategy: aggressive and impressive
BMNR stock at any given valuation level: a much more complex situation

The 5% milestone is impressive; however, BitMine's actions after reaching this level may be more significant than the achievement of reaching it in the first place.

In light of the most recent data available, the picture is actually quite interesting.

As of October 4, BitMine reported holding 6,016,414 ETH; BMNR closed at $26.20 on October 6. The reported share count is 603.23 million.

1. ETH per BMNR share

Using the following data:

* ETH held: 6,016,414
* Shares in circulation: 603.23 million

This results in approximately:

9.975 ETH per BMNR share.

In other words—before accounting for dilution, liabilities, and the company's other assets—every 100 BMNR shares represent ~997.5 ETH of BitMine's reported reserves.

2. Current ETH-backed value per share

ETH is currently trading in the $2,600–$2,700 range.

Based on a price of $2,618:

6.016 million ETH × $2,618 ≈ $15.75 billion

Divided by 603.23 million shares:

ETH value ≈ $26.11 per BMNR share

BMNR closed at $26.20; this means the stock is trading at a premium of approximately 0.3% relative to the value of the ETH alone.

This is a noteworthy situation: the market is currently pricing BMNR's ETH holdings almost one-to-one (at their equivalent dollar value). 3. However, BMNR holds more than just ETH

BitMine also reported the following:

* $643 million in cash + marketable securities
* 214 BTC

The company reported total assets of approximately $17.4 billion, consisting of crypto, cash, marketable securities, and high-risk/high-yield assets. Based on the reported gross asset figure of $17.4 billion:

$17.4 billion ÷ 603.23 million shares ≈ $28.84 per share

Against a share price of $26.20, this implies:

A price representing a 9.2% discount relative to the reported gross asset value.

Important note: This is gross asset value, not a fully adjusted Net Asset Value (NAV); calculating a true NAV would require the most up-to-date liability data and details on all dilutive instruments.

4. What happens if the ETH price reaches $3,000, $4,000, or $5,000? Assuming BitMine retains its 6,016,414 ETH holdings and we value this ETH asset at exactly 1x its spot Net Asset Value:

ETH Price ETH Reserve Value ETH Value / BMNR Share
$3,000 $18.05 billion $29.93
$4,000 $24.07 billion $39.89
$5,000 $30.08 billion $49.96

Also, keep in mind: These figures do not account for the value of BMNR's cash, BTC, or other investments.

Assuming we hold the company's non-ETH assets—valued at approximately $1 billion—constant, the corresponding gross asset values would be roughly as follows:

* $3,000 ETH → ~$31.5 per share
* $4,000 ETH → ~$41.5 per share
* $5,000 ETH → ~$51.5 per share

These are not price targets; they are scenarios based on a 1x gross asset value.

My take

The most interesting aspect here isn't simply the fact that "BMNR holds 6 million ETH."

What truly matters is the relationship between the amount of ETH per share and BMNR's market value. Given the current share count, every $1,000 change in the ETH price impacts BMNR’s ETH reserve value by approximately $6.02 billion (or about $9.97 per BMNR share). This is a significant figure.

BitMine has already staked 5.07 million ETH; management projects that annual staking revenue currently stands at approximately $363 million, a figure that could rise to around $431 million once the entire reserve is staked.

My conclusion is this: At a price of around $26 per share, BMNR does not appear to carry the massive Net Asset Value (NAV) premium sometimes seen in crypto-reserve companies of this type. The primary risk here is dilution: if BitMine issues new shares to purchase more ETH, the total amount of ETH might increase, but the amount of ETH per share might not rise at the same rate.

Therefore, rather than focusing solely on the headline figure of "6 million ETH," I prefer to track the amount of ETH per diluted BMNR share.

The calculation becomes particularly interesting if the price of ETH reaches $4,000: even without assigning any value to BitMine's other assets or staking operations, the value of its ETH holdings alone equates to approximately $39.89 per share.
