#HYPETreasuryHoldingsTop$3.2B The Strategy Playbook Applied to HYPE: A $3.2 Billion Treasury and a 97% Buyback Floor

There is now a template in crypto for what a token-backed treasury looks like, and Hyperliquid Strategies is running it to perfection. The Nasdaq-listed company holds roughly 35.1 million HYPE worth about $3.2 billion, and it has built that position through a combination of equity raises and aggressive, continuous buying turning its own balance sheet into the most important structural bid in the HYPE market.

The mechanism is the differentiator. Hyperliquid reinvests 97% of its trading fees into buying back HYPE, which means demand is generated automatically by protocol activity, independent of discretionary treasury decisions. On top of that fee-funded floor, the treasury has been buying aggressively: roughly 5.5 million HYPE for $476 million over the past month, averaging about $15.86 million per day. On September 25 alone it bought 494,200 HYPE worth $45.8 million in 16 hours a single purchase larger than what all three HYPE ETFs accumulated in the entire prior week.

The accounting is already bearing fruit. Hyperliquid Strategies reported $305.5 million in net income for fiscal 2026, with $709.9 million in unrealized gains driven by HYPE's outperformance the token is up roughly **280% in 2026**, while Bitcoin is down about 5.4% and Ethereum down nearly 11%. The company raised about $647 million in equity and has spent roughly $773.4 million buying HYPE since December, a deliberate strategy of concentrating its balance sheet in the token.

The price action reflects the support. HYPE is trading around **$90–$91**, up about 1.65% over 24 hours after a 3.55% surge on the buyback news, with the short-term trend reading bullish and the 1-hour RSI near **60.6**. The EMA cluster between $89.4 and $90.5 is acting as immediate support, while the daily SAR at **$94.5** marks the overhead resistance just below the September high of $94–$98.

The risk is the same one that haunts any concentrated treasury strategy: it cuts both ways. The company just **unstaked 3.75 million HYPE (~$320–$330 million) as team compensation**, routing it to an institutional buyer with no lockup, while whale addresses unstaked another ~983,600 HYPE and moved tokens toward exchanges. Only about **222 million HYPE 22% of the 1 billion max supply is in circulation**, so every unlock matters. The 97% fee buyback and the $3.2 billion treasury have absorbed the pressure so far, which is why HYPE holds $90 instead of breaking down.

The lesson is clear: a fee-funded buyback plus a committed treasury is a powerful floor, but it concentrates HYPE's fate in a single buyer's hands. Watch the fee revenue and the unlock calendar those two variables, not the chart, will decide whether $94.5 is reclaimed or $87 is retested.

$3.2 Billion HYPE Treasury Three Numbers Are Now Redefining HYPE’s Supply-Demand Structure

Hyperliquid’s HYPE story has moved beyond a simple token rally.

A publicly traded treasury company now holds approximately 35.1 million HYPE worth $3.2 billion, while the Hyperliquid protocol itself continues converting fees into HYPE buybacks and burns. The latest data adds another layer: the new AQAv2 mechanism is bringing USDC reserve yield into the buyback system, creating a second source of demand that is less dependent on trading volume.

For #HYPETreasuryHoldingsTop$3.2B, three numbers now matter most:

$3.2 billion treasury.
$476 million accumulated in one month.
99% of protocol fees directed toward the Assistance Fund.

Together, they create one of the most unusual treasury-and-token structures in the market.

🥇 1 — $3.2 Billion Corporate HYPE Position

Hyperliquid Strategies has accumulated approximately 35.1 million HYPE, currently valued around $3.2 billion.

That compares with roughly 29.3 million HYPE worth $1.9 billion at the June 30 fiscal-year end.

The change is significant because the company is not simply holding a static crypto treasury. It is continuously adding HYPE to its balance sheet.

The latest disclosed accumulation showed the scale clearly: on September 25, a wallet linked to Hyperliquid Strategies purchased approximately 494,200 HYPE worth $45.8 million in just 16 hours.

The company has therefore become an important demand source for HYPE — but also an important concentration factor.

Its fiscal 2026 results underline how strongly the balance sheet is now linked to HYPE. The company reported approximately $305.5 million in net income and around $709.9 million in unrealized gains, with HYPE appreciation playing a major role. HYPE had gained roughly 280% in 2026 at the time of the latest treasury update, significantly outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum.

🥈 2 — $476 Million Accumulation in One Month

The second number is the buying speed.

Over approximately one month, Hyperliquid Strategies accumulated around 5.51 million HYPE worth $476 million.

That equals approximately 183,574 HYPE per day, or roughly $15.86 million of buying every day.

The September 25 purchase alone — 494,200 HYPE for $45.8 million — shows how quickly the treasury can deploy capital.

This is important because HYPE has simultaneously experienced heavy market activity. After reaching the $90–$93 area in late September, the token pulled back sharply, with September 29 closing near $86.04 before recovering toward $89.30 on October 3. October 3 volume was approximately $964.96 million, while market capitalization was around $19.82 billion based on CoinGecko's historical data.

So the market is now testing a very important question:

Can corporate treasury demand absorb large-holder selling and still keep HYPE structurally strong?

That is more important than simply counting treasury purchases.

🥉 3 — The Buyback Engine Just Got Stronger

This is where the latest update materially changes the thesis.

The commonly repeated 97% figure is outdated for the current main protocol fee structure. Hyperliquid's documentation states that the Assistance Fund receives fees that are converted into HYPE through automated open-market purchases, while a recent SEC filing states that 99% of protocol fees are currently allocated to the Assistance Fund. HYPE acquired by the fund is subsequently burned.

And now there is a second potential demand stream.

Under AQAv2, approximately 90% of eligible USDC reserve yield is directed toward the Assistance Fund.

The first AQAv2 payment was approximately $14.58 million in USDC, with the funds designated for the HYPE buyback mechanism. This matters because the new source of buyback funding is linked to stablecoin reserve yield rather than being entirely dependent on trading activity.

That creates a much more interesting equation:

Trading activity → fees → HYPE buybacks/burns

plus

USDC reserves → reserve yield → Assistance Fund → HYPE buybacks/burns

The result is a token demand mechanism with two different revenue inputs.

The part bulls cannot ignore

A stronger buyback mechanism does not automatically create a permanent price floor.

HYPE still faces supply and liquidity risks.

Recent data shows the token moving from around $93.98 on September 23 to approximately $85.96 on September 29, demonstrating how quickly large-holder selling can overwhelm bullish structural factors in the short term.

There is also ongoing unlock and vesting risk. Recent transparency data highlights continued releases from long-term allocations, meaning the market must continuously absorb new potential supply alongside the protocol's buybacks and burns.

That gives HYPE a genuine market-structure battle:

Corporate accumulation + protocol buybacks + burns + new AQAv2 revenue

versus

Whale selling + unlocks + treasury concentration + broader crypto liquidity.

What I would watch next

The most important HYPE indicators are no longer just price.

I would track the treasury's purchase velocity, the Assistance Fund's actual HYPE purchases and burns, AQAv2 payments, exchange inflows from large holders, and whether HYPE can maintain demand when treasury buying temporarily slows.

The price structure also matters.

HYPE closed around $89.30 on October 3, after trading between approximately $87.88 and $89.94 that day. A sustained recovery above the $91–$93 zone would put the recent highs back into focus, while a loss of the $85–$86 area would show that supply pressure is still dominating the buyback narrative.

The bigger picture is therefore much more interesting than the headline $3.2 billion treasury.

Hyperliquid Strategies is accumulating HYPE at institutional scale, while Hyperliquid's own economics are automatically directing the overwhelming majority of protocol fees toward HYPE buybacks and burns. Now AQAv2 is adding another potential funding stream through USDC reserve yield.

35.1 million HYPE.
$3.2 billion treasury.
$476 million accumulated in one month.
99% current fee allocation to the Assistance Fund.
$14.58 million first AQAv2 USDC payment.

That is why #HYPETreasuryHoldingsTop$3.2B is becoming more than a treasury headline.

It is a story about who is buying HYPE, how the protocol funds recurring buybacks, how much supply is being removed, and whether those structural bids can keep pace with the sellers entering the market.

The $3.2 billion treasury is the headline but the real HYPE trade is the battle between accumulation, buybacks, burns and new supply. @Gate_Square
