NVDA Weekly Trading Outlook
$NVDA WEEKLY OUTLOOK — THE NEXT MOVE COULD BE VERY IMPORTANT
NVIDIA ($NVDA) has returned to the center of the AI and semiconductor rally. The stock closed around $227.38, gaining approximately 2.3% in the latest session as technology and semiconductor shares led the broader market higher. NVDA is now approaching an important resistance zone after recovering strongly from its recent weakness.
The key questions now are simple: Can NVDA reclaim its previous high? Can AI demand continue supporting the valuation? How could U.S.-China developments affect NVIDIA's China business? And what should traders watch before taking the next position?
1. CAN NVDA CONTINUE HIGHER?
The fundamental story remains closely connected to AI infrastructure spending. NVIDIA's latest fiscal Q2 2027 results showed $96.2 billion in revenue, up 106% year over year, while Data Center revenue reached $89.0 billion, up 117% year over year. NVIDIA also guided Q3 revenue to approximately $108 billion, plus or minus 2%.
Those numbers explain why traders continue to pay close attention to NVDA. The AI infrastructure cycle is no longer based only on expectations; NVIDIA is currently reporting extremely strong realized revenue growth.
The next challenge is therefore not simply proving that AI demand exists. The market wants to know whether NVIDIA can continue converting that demand into accelerating revenue and earnings while maintaining strong margins.
2. CURRENT PRICE AND KEY RESISTANCE
NVDA is around $227-$228 after Monday's strong advance.
My key levels are:
$228-$230: Immediate resistance
$232-$235: Major resistance zone
$235.74: Previous record closing high
$240: First major breakout extension
$250: Psychological upside target
$275-$300: Larger medium-term scenario if earnings momentum remains strong
The previous record closing high was approximately $235.74, so that is the most important level for the bulls to reclaim. A decisive move through $235-$236 followed by strong volume would put NVDA into a fresh price-discovery phase.
From around $227.38, a move to $235 represents roughly 3.4% upside. $240 would be about 5.5%, while $250 would be approximately 10% higher.
These are scenario levels, not guaranteed targets.
3. WHERE ARE THE IMPORTANT SUPPORT LEVELS?
After the recent recovery, I would watch the following areas closely:
$222-$224: First support
$218-$220: Important short-term support
$214-$216: Stronger support
$208-$210: Major recent defensive zone
Holding $222-$224 would show that buyers are still defending the latest breakout attempt.
If NVDA falls below $218-$220 and cannot reclaim it, momentum would become less convincing.
A decisive move below approximately $214 would weaken the short-term structure further and could bring $208-$210 back into focus.
For me, $220 is therefore an important line between continued momentum and deeper consolidation.
4. WHAT ARE TRADERS WATCHING?
Traders are watching three major things.
First is $230-$235 resistance. NVDA needs to prove that buyers can absorb selling pressure near the previous highs.
Second is AI demand. NVIDIA's latest numbers showed extraordinary Data Center growth, with revenue reaching $89 billion in Q2 FY27. That gives the market a fundamental reason to continue monitoring higher prices.
Third is China exposure.
This week's U.S.-China discussions are particularly relevant because NVIDIA's ability to sell AI hardware into China can affect future revenue opportunities. Recent reporting says the U.S. has authorized selected H200 shipments to China, while broader restrictions remain an important uncertainty.
That means traders are likely to react quickly to any major development involving AI-chip exports.
5. HOW HIGH COULD NVDA GO?
There are several different scenarios rather than one fixed forecast.
Short-term: $235-$240
Momentum extension: $250
Medium-term scenario: $275-$300
Some Wall Street analyst targets are substantially higher. For example, current analyst data compiled by Google Finance shows an average 12-month target around $324, while the highest listed target is $465 and the lowest is $275. Another analyst compilation shows an average target around $327 from 57 analysts.
These targets should not be interpreted as promises. Analyst estimates can change significantly as earnings expectations, valuation and AI spending assumptions change.
For trading purposes, I would focus much more on the actual price structure: $230, $235-$236, $240 and $250.
6. MY NVDA TRADING STRATEGY
I would divide the setup into three scenarios.
SCENARIO A — BREAKOUT
If NVDA breaks above $230 and holds it, the next level I would watch is $235.
A strong breakout through $235-$236 would be much more significant because that area is close to the previous record high.
If price establishes itself above that zone with strong volume, $240 and then $250 become the next areas to monitor.
I would prefer confirmation rather than buying simply because NVDA touches $230.
SCENARIO B — CONTROLLED PULLBACK
If NVDA pulls back toward $222-$224 but buyers defend that zone, the pullback could provide a cleaner risk-defined setup.
The important signal would be whether price stabilizes and begins making higher lows again.
If $220 holds, the broader short-term structure remains constructive.
SCENARIO C — DEEPER CORRECTION
If NVDA loses $218 and especially $214 with strong selling pressure, I would become more cautious.
The next important area would be approximately $208-$210.
I would not treat every decline as an automatic buying opportunity. The market needs to show stabilization before risk is increased again.
7. WHAT IS THE NEXT PLAN?
My plan would be straightforward.
Above $230, watch for confirmation.
Above $235-$236, monitor whether the breakout can hold.
Above $240, $250 becomes increasingly relevant.
Between $220-$230, patience and smaller position sizing make more sense because the stock could remain inside a consolidation range.
Below $218, reassess momentum.
Below $214, protect capital and wait for a stronger technical base.
The biggest mistake in a high-momentum stock like NVDA is chasing a large green candle without considering where support is located.
A better approach is to define the entry, invalidation level and target before entering.
8. WHAT COULD DRIVE THE NEXT BIG MOVE?
The biggest catalyst remains AI infrastructure demand.
NVIDIA's latest results showed that Data Center revenue increased 117% year over year, while total revenue increased 106%. NVIDIA also expects approximately $108 billion in Q3 revenue.
The second major driver is China.
If U.S.-China discussions reduce uncertainty around NVIDIA's ability to supply certain AI chips to Chinese customers, sentiment could improve. If restrictions become tighter, the stock could face additional volatility.
The third driver is the broader market.
Monday's rally showed strong semiconductor leadership, with NVDA gaining about 2.3% as the Nasdaq reached a record. If the broader technology sector remains strong, NVDA has a more supportive environment for another breakout attempt.
9. FINAL NVDA VIEW
NVIDIA is now approaching a critical decision zone.
$230 is the first breakout test.
$235-$236 is the major resistance area.
$240 is the next upside level.
$250 is the major psychological target.
$275-$300 is a larger medium-term scenario if fundamentals continue supporting the valuation.
On the downside:
$222-$224 is first support.
$218-$220 is important short-term support.
$214-$216 is stronger support.
$208-$210 is the major defensive zone.
The fundamental story remains powerful, with NVIDIA reporting $96.2 billion quarterly revenue and $89 billion of Data Center revenue in its latest results. But strong fundamentals do not eliminate short-term volatility, especially near record highs.
My strategy is therefore simple: do not chase resistance, wait for confirmation, respect support, and define risk before entering.
If NVDA successfully clears $235-$236 and holds above it, the market could begin focusing on $240 and $250. If buyers fail there and price falls back below $220, consolidation becomes more likely.
For traders watching the AI market, $230-$236 is the battlefield, $240 is the next test, and $250 is the major upside level to keep on the radar.
