Where Are the Trading Opportunities After CPI?

With August U.S. CPI rising 0.4% MoM and annual inflation holding at 3.4%, I think the best opportunities right now are less about chasing sudden moves and more about watching how markets react to Fed expectations.
For crypto, BTC and ETH could be interesting to watch if rate-cut expectations improve and liquidity returns to risk assets. In stocks, rate-sensitive sectors and major indices could benefit from a softer inflation outlook.
But if inflation stays sticky, defensive setups and short-term volatility trades may become more attractive.
For me, the key signals are Treasury yields, Fed expectations, BTC momentum, and upcoming economic data.
The opportunity is there but so is the risk. Trade the reaction, not the headline.

The battle between Treasury yields and Fed expectations is the main show; the headline is just noise. “Trade the reaction” is absolutely right.

The market’s reaction to the CPI data is quite nuanced. It feels like now isn’t the time to chase a direction; it’s safer to wait until Fed expectations actually materialize before making a move.

If inflation is really sticky, defensive positioning + short-term volatility strategies are indeed more attractive; rushing in now could easily get buried.

Keeping an eye on U.S. Treasury yields and BTC momentum is indeed crucial. If liquidity flows back into risk assets, ETH may have greater upside. Let’s observe for two days first.
