🇺🇸 The bill seeking to enshrine a strategic BTC reserve into law is set to be reviewed by a House of Representatives committee on Wednesday.

The bill H.R. 8957, dubbed the American Reserve Modernization Act of 2026, was introduced on May 21. Among other things, it aims to legally establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, transparently govern the bitcoins held by the federal government, and provide mechanisms to fund its operations.
This step obviously does not mean that the bill has been adopted. Committee review allows lawmakers to study the text, propose amendments, and potentially decide whether it should continue through the legislative process. But politically, the symbolism is powerful. Bitcoin is no longer discussed solely as an asset to regulate; it is now being debated in Congress as a potential national reserve asset.

That is interesting, but the CLARITY Act has not been passed.
