Recovering from a trading downturn requires the courage to pause and reorganize your strategy and mindset.

Stop Trading Temporarily: Immediately step away from the screen (charts). Taking a break is crucial to let your emotions settle and prevent revenge trading from further depleting your remaining capital.

Review Your Trading Journal: Honestly recheck your transaction records. Identify the main cause of the losses, whether it was violating risk management rules, overtrading, not using a stop loss, or being driven by emotions (FOMO).

Improve Risk Management: Never risk capital you cannot afford to lose. Limit the risk per trade (for example, 1–2% of your total capital) and use a stop loss consistently.

Start Again with a Small Size: Once you are ready to return to the market, reduce your position sizing to the minimum level or use a demo account. Your main focus now is rebuilding confidence and consistency, not chasing losses.

Focus on the Process, Not the Results: Shift your mindset from "I must make profits quickly" to "I must execute my trading plan with discipline."

Losses are the cost of education in the market. Stay calm, learn from those mistakes, and gradually rebuild your portfolio.

Starting over from the demo account is nothing to be ashamed of; most profitable traders I know have gone through this process of being wiped out and starting from zero.

The 1% stop-loss rule is etched into my forehead now—I get shaky even opening a position, and calculate how much I can afford to lose before placing the order.

I've already filled three review journals, and looking back now, those FOMO trades are downright laughable.
