Gate's RWA Perpetuals Now Rank Top 3 in the World, and CoinDesk Research Confirmed It

According to CoinDesk's latest Exchange Review for August 2026, Gate's RWA Perpetuals segment has officially entered the global top 3. RWA stands for Real-World Assets, meaning assets tied to real financial value in the physical world such as gold, tokenized treasuries, equities and indices, brought together with the blockchain and crypto trading ecosystem. Alongside this, Perpetuals are futures-style contracts with no fixed expiry date, allowing traders to take long or short positions on price movement. In this category, Gate's name now sits among the top 3 platforms in the world, and this confirmation does not come from Gate's own marketing, it comes from CoinDesk Research, one of the most authentic independent research houses in the industry. When independent data speaks for itself, praise is no longer even required.

Looking at the actual figures in CoinDesk's August report, the picture becomes even clearer. Gate's RWA perpetual trading volume surged 158% within a single month to reach 64.7 billion dollars. A 158% increase means more than double, achieved on a month-over-month basis. At the same time, Gate's RWA perpetual market share climbed from 5.32% to 12.6%, meaning its share of the market more than doubled in one month alone. On the strength of this performance, Gate moved into third position globally. Total CEX RWA perps volume for August stood at 602 billion dollars, up 2.37%, and against that backdrop Gate's growth ran many times faster than the market's overall growth, meaning that while the market inched forward, Gate moved at full speed.

This achievement is not limited to RWA alone. In the same CoinDesk report, Gate's derivatives and spot businesses also shine with their own numbers. Gate's futures trading volume reached 287 billion dollars, earning the platform 4th position globally. Spot trading volume came in at 40 billion dollars, up 11.6% month over month, and with a 4.49% spot market share, Gate joined the world's top five spot exchanges. Combining spot and derivatives, Gate's total trading volume reached 327 billion dollars, again placing it 4th in the global ranking. This is a scale at which only a handful of platforms in the world stand, and Gate is one of them.

This momentum did not appear overnight, it is the result of months of consistent execution. In the July 2026 Exchange Review, CoinDesk reported that RWA perpetual volume across CEXs rose 47.8% to a record 460 billion dollars, and even then Gate stood in third position with a 4.39% market share. In July, Gate's RWA perps volume grew 4.8% to 56.5 billion dollars, and its futures open interest share of 11.2% placed it second among retail platforms. So July brought a top 3 position, and August delivered another top 3 position, but this time with 64.7 billion dollars in volume and a 12.6% market share. This is not merely holding a rank, it is strengthening that position with double the market share.

Gate's own August Transparency Report makes these numbers even richer. RWA perpetual open interest market share reached 49.6%, the first position among global CEXs, meaning that of all RWA perps open interest on centralized exchanges worldwide, roughly half sits with Gate. Across the entire market, including DEXs, Gate also ranks among the top 2 for RWA perps open interest. Stock perpetual trading volume rose 308% month over month, marking the third consecutive month of triple-digit growth. 30-day net inflows reached 308.1 million dollars, the second highest figure among major platforms. Total reserves climbed to 8.215 billion dollars with an overall reserve ratio of 127%, meaning full coverage of user assets plus a 27% cushion on top, which is the strongest possible proof of trust. The number of TradFi assets on offer reached 1,004, ranking first globally, and the stock futures segment recorded approximately 1.092 billion dollars in 24-hour trading volume.

The platform's reach is expanding at the same pace, with more than 60 million users, over 12,800 stocks and ETFs, and more than 400 listed RWA tickers including XAU or gold, SNDK, and other real-world symbols. What is most interesting is that when volatility hit the market, flow moved toward Gate rather than away from it, with Gate's best week ever landing exactly when the market was turbulent. This is the outcome of liquidity, depth and listing breadth, because when traders need exposure to real-world assets, they go where the markets are broadest and execution is best.

Today Gate is no longer just a crypto exchange. Spot, derivatives, RWA, global equities, pre-IPO, Web3 and payments, all in one place and inside a single account. Ranking top 3 in the world for RWA perpetuals, top 2 for futures open interest, top 5 in spot, and number one for TradFi assets, together these form a single picture: Gate is rapidly advancing toward becoming a multi-asset financial platform, and its position grows stronger with every passing month.

When independent and neutral sources such as CoinDesk place a platform's name among the world's top 3, this is not just a headline, it is proof of market trust, liquidity and execution quality. In Gate's case that proof speaks in numbers: 158% growth, 12.6% market share, 64.7 billion dollars in volume, 49.6% open interest share, and a 127% reserve ratio. The global position Gate now holds in RWA trading and the derivatives market is a top 3 position in the world, and that fact no longer requires an argument, it requires only the data.#weeklyshare
