After Apple’s first foldable-screen iPhone, iPhone Duo, was officially unveiled, Apple’s stock surged 3.56% in a single day, touching an intraday high of $326.74 and ultimately closing at $326.57, sending its total market capitalization past the $4.76 trillion mark
Many people are curious: how can a mere 3% gain create nearly $160 billion in additional market value? From the core logic of capital markets, this is by no means simply a matter of enthusiasm for a new phone, but rather Wall Street repricing Apple’s business growth curve
Valuation Premium Reshaping
Before this, the market was generally concerned that Apple was lagging its rivals in deploying foldable-screen devices and AI, with its stock fluctuating around $300–$315. iPhone Duo’s anchoring at the ultra-high-end $1,999 price point means there is now room to lift per-device gross margins and average selling price (ASP), directly dispelling institutions’ concerns that hardware growth had peaked
Expectations Materialize
Capital is voting with its feet, focusing on Duo’s strong ability to lock in high-net-worth customers, as well as the spillover effects of subsequent high-margin Apple Intelligence subscriptions and ecosystem services
Forecasting the Subsequent Trend
Before its official launch on October 23, the stock price of $AAPL will most likely consolidate in a high-level range of $320–$330. In the short term, a slight pullback cannot be ruled out as profit-taking emerges before the first batch of preorder data is released
But from a medium- to long-term perspective, this rally has established the tone for a breakout in the second half of the year. As long as supply-chain production capacity and delivery times do not encounter problems in the fourth quarter, Apple’s stock could ride the momentum toward the all-time high range of $340–$350
