#SpaceXMarketCapBackto$2Trillion
๐ SpaceX Reclaims the $2 Trillion Club โ What Comes Next for SPCX?
SpaceX has officially reclaimed the $2 trillion market-cap milestone. On September 8, SPCX closed around $153.45, gaining 3.73% on the day. With roughly 13.4 billion shares outstanding, that price puts SpaceX near a $2.05 trillion valuation.
The key level is the $147.50โ$150 zone. This area roughly represents the $2 trillion valuation threshold, making it the most important level for bulls to defend. Holding above it could turn the reclaim into a new foundation; losing it on strong volume could signal another failed breakout.
๐ The Price Journey
SPCX's journey since the June 12 IPO has been extremely volatile.
SpaceX priced around $135, opened near $150, and closed its first session around $160โ$161. The IPO raised roughly $75 billion, later reported near $85.7 billion.
The euphoria quickly pushed SPCX to an all-time high of $225.64 on June 16, briefly giving SpaceX a valuation close to $3 trillion.
Then came a brutal reversal.
The stock closed around $154.61 on June 22, bounced to approximately $170.69 on June 30, and later broke below the $135 IPO price.
The decline reached a closing low of approximately $108.29 on August 5, with an intraday low near $104.84.
From $225.64 to the trough, SPCX lost roughly 53%.
But the recovery has been powerful. From the $108.29 closing low to $153.45, SPCX gained approximately 41.7%. From the $104.84 intraday low, the recovery is around 46.4%.
Even after this rebound, SPCX remains about 32% below its ATH, showing that the recovery is impressive but the previous damage is not completely repaired.
๐ฅ September Breakout
September brought a major change in momentum.
On September 3, SPCX jumped around 6.4% to $149.74, reclaiming the $2 trillion area. On September 4, it slipped about 1.2% to $147.93, briefly losing the milestone.
Then September 8 delivered the stronger confirmation with a 3.73% rally to $153.45.
Volume also improved significantly. Around 114 million shares traded on September 3, producing roughly $17 billion turnover, compared with approximately 40โ55 million shares during typical late-August sessions.
Traders have also highlighted the reclaim of the IPO volume-weighted average price, another important technical development.
The immediate battle is now clear:
$147.50โ$150 = $2T support
$155 = immediate resistance
$160โ$162 = major breakout zone
๐ค Why Is SpaceX Recovering?
This rally is more than a simple space-sector move.
The biggest driver is the growing AI + cloud + Starlink + orbital-computing narrative.
On September 2, Oppenheimer raised its target from $250 to $280, citing accelerating AI revenue potential. Deutsche Bank also initiated coverage with a Buy rating.
Tesla's strong move around its Cybercab event and its disclosed $2 billion SpaceX investment further strengthened the Musk ecosystem narrative.
Another major catalyst is Starship Flight 14, targeted around September 15, with operational Starlink V3 satellites expected to add further attention.
The long-term story is becoming much bigger than rockets.
Investors are increasingly looking at SpaceX as a potential combination of:
Starlink + AI + Cloud + Defense + Communications + Orbital Infrastructure.
The fact that other space names did not rally similarly is also important. AST SpaceMobile gained only around 1%, while Planet Labs fell roughly 13% and Intuitive Machines declined about 9%.
That suggests SPCX's move is primarily a SpaceX-specific growth and AI narrative, not simply sector-wide speculation.
๐ Macro Backdrop
The broader market has also helped.
On September 3, the S&P 500 gained about 1.1%, Nasdaq rose around 1.4%, and Dow gained approximately 1.2%. The 10-year Treasury yield moved toward 4.74%.
For a high-growth stock like SPCX, yields matter.
Lower yields can support expensive growth stocks, while rising yields can compress their valuations.
Therefore, the September 15โ16 FOMC meeting and upcoming inflation data remain important risks. A hawkish surprise could create pressure across high-duration technology and growth names, including SPCX.
๐ฐ Fundamentals
SpaceX's growth story is supported by strong reported numbers.
Its first quarterly report showed approximately $7.8 billion revenue, up around 92% YoY. Net loss narrowed to about $541 million, while adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to around $3.5 billion, roughly a 45% adjusted margin.
Starlink reached approximately 12 million subscribers, around double year over year, with about 1.7 million sequential additions.
However, there is a key weakness: ARPU remained near $66, approximately 22% below the previous year's $85.
The AI/cloud business generated around $2.56 billion revenue, up approximately 247% YoY, but still recorded an operating loss near $1.26 billion.
SpaceX reportedly holds around $100 billion cash and securities against approximately $36.8 billion debt, alongside roughly $47.5 billion backlog, more than $14 billion contracted cloud sales, and over $6 billion Starshield contracts.
The opportunity is enormous, but so are the expectations.
At around 85ร trailing sales, SPCX is not a traditional value stock. The market is already pricing in substantial future growth.
๐ฏ Wall Street Targets
Analyst expectations remain strongly divided.
MarketBeat's data shows approximately 27 buy-equivalent ratings, 8 holds and 7 sells among 42 analysts, with a Moderate Buy consensus and average target near $221.
Major targets include:
UBS: $210
Wells Fargo: $215
RBC: $225
Cantor: $246
Macquarie: $250
Needham: $250
Oppenheimer: $280
A $280 price would imply a valuation near $3.7 trillion.
Morgan Stanley has been cited around $300, while the extremely aggressive $800 scenario should be viewed as a long-term orbital-computing option rather than a normal price forecast.
On the bearish side, HSBC has been cited around $115, showing just how wide the valuation debate remains.
Scenario Map
Bear: $115โ$140
Base: $221โ$226
Bull: $280โ$300
These are scenarios, not guaranteed targets.
๐ Technical Picture
The technical structure has improved considerably.
SPCX is now above its approximate:
20-day MA: $146.7
50-day MA: $143.7
100-day MA: $140.8
200-day MA: $132.8
The 14-day RSI moved from around 57 on September 4 toward 68 after the September 8 rally.
Momentum is therefore strong, but the stock is becoming short-term extended.
The most important confirmation is whether SPCX can continue closing above $147.50โ$150.
๐งฑ Key Levels
Support: $147.50โ$150
Next Support: $140โ$143
Major Support: $135
Lower Support: $130โ$133
Major Recovery Zone: $105โ$108
Resistance: $155
Major Breakout: $160โ$162
Next Target: $176
Psychological Target: $200
ATH Resistance: $225.64
A strong close above $160โ$162 with expanding volume would significantly improve the bullish setup.
๐ Trading Strategy
From a general trading perspective, SPCX currently favors trend-following and disciplined pullback strategies rather than chasing strong green candles.
A controlled retest of $147โ$150 followed by renewed buying would be healthier than aggressively buying after a sharp rally.
If SPCX holds $150 and breaks $155, the next focus becomes $160โ$162.
A convincing breakout above $160โ$162 could open the way toward $176 and potentially $200+.
However, a close below $147 on heavy volume would be an early warning. A sustained break below $135 would significantly weaken the recovery structure.
๐ Share Unlocks
One of the biggest short-term risks is increasing share supply.
Approximately 319 million shares are reportedly scheduled to unlock around September 9, followed by roughly 59 million on September 10. Additional unlocks are expected during October, with another major supply event around December.
Musk's approximately 6.4 billion shares reportedly remain locked until June 2027.
But unlocks do not automatically mean a price decline.
After the August 6 unlock involving up to approximately 911.5 million shares, SPCX reportedly gained around 6%. After the August 20 unlock of roughly 319 million shares, the stock later declined around 4%โ5%.
Therefore, the real question is whether new supply is actually sold aggressively or absorbed by market demand.
โ ๏ธ Main Risks
The biggest risks are valuation, share supply, Starlink ARPU, AI profitability, Starship execution and macro conditions.
A valuation near 85ร sales requires exceptional growth.
Starlink's subscriber numbers are impressive, but declining ARPU needs monitoring.
AI revenue is growing rapidly, yet the segment remains loss-making.
Starship Flight 14 could become a major volatility catalyst.
And if inflation or the Fed pushes yields higher, high-duration growth stocks could face valuation pressure.
๐ Final View
SpaceX is back above the $2 trillion market-cap milestone, but the real test starts now.
For me, the most important level is $147.50โ$150.
If SPCX defends this zone, absorbs the upcoming unlock supply and breaks $155 followed by $160โ$162 with strong volume, the next potential levels become $176, $200 and eventually $225.64.
If it loses $147โ$150 on heavy volume, the market could question whether this was a genuine breakout or simply another relief rally.
The long-term thesis remains powerful: Starlink, AI, cloud, Starship, Starshield and orbital computing could create an enormous future opportunity.
But the valuation demands equally strong execution.
$2 trillion has been reclaimed. Now SpaceX has to defend it.
For SPCX bulls, $150 is the battlefield, $160โ$162 is the confirmation zone, $176 is the next major target, and $225.64 remains the ultimate historical resistance.
The milestone is back.
Now the market must decide whether SpaceX can make $2 trillion the floor โ rather than just another stop on a volatile journey.
