XBRUSD CFD SHORT TRADE CLOSED — +14.16% ROI 📉🔥
Today I took a short-term XBRUSD CFD short trade on Gate and the position has now been closed.
This was a quick intraday trade where the main objective was simple: identify a short opportunity, manage the position properly, and close the trade once the expected move was achieved.
Trade Details
Pair: XBRUSD
Instrument: CFD / TradFi
Direction: SHORT
Leverage: 100x
Position Size: 0.14 Lots
Entry Price: 100.04
Average Exit Price: 99.87
Realized PnL: +1.98 USD
ROI: +14.16% ✅
Opened: 14:06:06
Closed: 14:42:09
So the position was held for roughly 36 minutes.
📉 Why the Short Worked
The basic idea behind this trade was to take advantage of a short-term downside move in XBRUSD rather than trying to hold the position for a large trend.
My entry was at 100.04, and the position was closed around 99.87.
That means the underlying price only moved about 0.17 points in my favor, but because this was a leveraged CFD position, the percentage return on the position was higher.
This is also a good reminder that leverage increases both the opportunity and the risk. A small move in the underlying can have a much larger effect on the position when high leverage is used.
🧠 Trade Management
One thing I always try to focus on with a scalp or intraday setup is not getting greedy after the position starts moving in my favor.
Once the expected short-term move was achieved, I chose to close the position and lock in the result.
Entry → 100.04
Price moved lower → 99.87
Position closed → +1.98 USD
ROI → +14.16%
For me, a trade doesn't need to catch a huge move to be considered a good trade.
A controlled entry, a clear direction, proper execution and knowing when to take the result are all part of the process.
📊 My Takeaway From This Trade
The biggest lesson here is execution over emotion.
I didn't need to predict where XBRUSD would go for the entire day.
I only needed to capture the move that matched my trade idea and then close the position.
At the same time, I want to emphasize that this was a CFD trade using 100x leverage, so this should not be viewed as a low-risk setup.
High leverage can amplify profits, but it can also amplify losses extremely quickly.
The goal is not to use maximum leverage just because it is available. The goal is to understand the risk and manage the position accordingly.
✅ Final Result
XBRUSD SHORT
Entry: 100.04
Exit: 99.87
Size: 0.14 Lots
Duration: ~36 minutes
PnL: +1.98 USD
ROI: +14.16%
Trade closed and result secured. 🔒📈
I’m sharing the actual result because I believe a trading journey should include both the setup and the outcome.
The market doesn't owe us a perfect trade every time. What matters is having a plan, executing it, managing risk and being honest about the result afterward.
Another trade completed. Another lesson added. 🚀
What would you have done here — taken the short and closed quickly, or tried to hold XBRUSD for a larger move?
