I tried out Gate’s “Meme hunter” today, and my first reaction wasn’t how many more features it has, but—finally, someone is starting to compete on-chain trading costs 😂

The two most annoying things about playing Memes are: first, just as you’re getting ready to ape in, Gas teaches you a lesson; second, after going back and forth a few times, the fees add up to something more glaring than the profits.

Meme hunter’s trading fees are now as low as 0.5%, while Robinhood Chain is offering a limited-time Gas-free promotion. For high-frequency Meme traders, these two benefits are genuinely practical.

And there’s no need to deal with external wallets or transfer funds across chains anymore—the money in your Gate account can be used directly. I think this is more important than “supporting a few more chains”; the convenience is real.

Of course, you can still lose money on Memes, and low fees are no get-out-of-jail-free card 😂 But if you were going on-chain anyway, paying a little less in fees is a real benefit.

Now I’m actually more curious to see whether its Callout leaderboard and KOL leaderboard will be useful. If they can really help me avoid buying into a few bad trades, that’s worth even more than Gas-free trading.
