#HYPEBreaks88HitsNewAllTimeHigh
HYPE briefly cleared 88 earlier and printed a new all-time high before settling back in the mid-86 range. The token remains up more than 57 percent over the past thirty days. The protocol’s buyback-and-burn mechanism continues to remove supply, daily active traders have climbed to around 42,000, and open interest sits near 2.3 billion dollars. The combination of deflationary pressure and rising participation is still the structural backdrop.
Current price action shows the market consolidating after the ATH tag. The move higher was driven by the same factors that have supported the thirty-day run: consistent buybacks reducing circulating supply and growing trader activity that has kept open interest elevated. The brief break above 88 confirmed that buyers were willing to push into new territory, yet the subsequent pullback into the mid-86s is typical after a vertical extension.
The bullish case remains a clean hold of the post-ATH range and a subsequent retest of the 88 area. If the buyback-and-burn continues to absorb supply at the current rate and the rise in active traders and open interest persists, the path of least resistance can still point higher. In that scenario the mid-80s region becomes the first support band on any deeper pullback.
The bearish case starts with a failure to hold the mid-80s. A break back under that zone on rising volume would likely open the door to deeper consolidation toward the lower 80s. After a 57 percent thirty-day run and a brief tag of new highs, some digestion is normal once the immediate momentum fades.
I am treating the 88 level as the next upside magnet and the mid-80s as the short-term trend filter. The deflationary mechanism and the growth in traders and open interest remain real supports, but the chart still has to confirm whether buyers are willing to defend the post-ATH range or whether the move needs more time. Size stays measured until one of those levels resolves with volume.
Did you trade the break of 88, or are you waiting for a cleaner retest of the mid-80s before adding? Share your levels and framing.
