There’s one trade I still remember—not because it was my biggest win, but because it taught me a lesson I probably needed more than any profit. 😂

I had been watching the market for quite some time that day.

I checked the chart, looked at the trend, marked a few important levels and watched the volume. The setup seemed clean enough, and after staring at it for what felt like forever, I finally convinced myself:

“This is it. I’ve got this one.” 😂

The confidence was real.

I entered the trade and, honestly, I was already imagining the price reaching my target.

For the first few minutes, everything looked fine.

Then price started moving against me.

I told myself it was just a normal pullback.

A few minutes later, it moved even further.

“Still okay.”

Then it moved again.

At that point, I was refreshing the chart like somehow the next candle would feel sorry for me. 😂

It didn't.

That was the moment I realized something important: I wasn't actually reacting to the market anymore—I was trying to prove that my prediction was right.

And those are two very different things.

The market doesn't know my entry.

It doesn't know my target.

It doesn't care how many times I studied the chart.

And most importantly, it doesn't care how confident I am.

That trade completely changed the way I look at risk.

After that, I started paying much more attention to position size, invalidation levels and the possibility that my idea could simply be wrong. I learned that protecting capital is sometimes more important than trying to catch every move.

I also stopped treating every losing trade like a personal failure.

A loss can be frustrating, but if you understand why it happened, it can become useful.

Looking back now, I actually appreciate that trade.

It didn't go according to my plan, but it forced me to become more disciplined.

And that's one thing I like about the crypto journey—every trade has a story.

Some stories are about unexpected profits.

Some are about painful losses.

And some are simply about sitting in front of a chart thinking:

“How did I become this confident five minutes ago?” 😂

As Gate reaches 60 million users worldwide, I can't help wondering how many different trading stories are hidden behind that number.

Millions of people.

Millions of first trades.

Millions of mistakes, surprises, lessons and moments that probably still make someone laugh.

Mine just happens to be the trade that taught me that being confident is good, but being prepared for being wrong is even better.

And honestly…

I’d rather remember a trade that taught me something than a trade that only made me money. 💙🍀

What’s the one trade you still remember because it completely humbled you? 😂
