Gate has officially launched U.S. stock options trading. The first phase covers nine popular names: Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Meta, AMD, Micron, Amazon, Google and Broadcom. Users can buy calls or puts directly with USDT. There is no separate brokerage account, no physical delivery, zero platform fees and zero commissions.

The practical change is accessibility. Options strategies that previously required an offshore equity account and a multi-step funding process can now be expressed with the same stablecoin balance already sitting on the platform. That removes a meaningful layer of friction for anyone who wants to hedge an existing crypto or stock position, or simply express a directional view with defined risk.

The initial list is concentrated in the names that already dominate both institutional and retail volume. AI-related names sit alongside the larger consumer and cloud platforms, so the product can be used for both thematic and single-stock views. Because settlement is in USDT and there is no physical delivery, the risk profile stays closer to the crypto products most users already understand.

I treat the launch as a useful expansion of the available toolkit rather than a reason to force activity. Defined-risk structures are easier to manage when the entry and exit currency is the same one used for the rest of the account. The zero-fee structure further lowers the cost of testing smaller size.

The open question is which of the nine names will see the most early volume and whether users will lean more toward calls on the AI complex or puts on the more consumer-facing names. Both approaches are now available without leaving the platform.
