When did I start using Gate, and what made me stay?

For me, the answer is not simply “because there were more coins to trade” or “because the platform had more features.” Those are easy reasons to give, and honestly, they are not enough to keep a user for the long term.

The real reason I stayed is evolution.

When I first started using Gate, I was looking at it primarily as a place to trade and discover opportunities. Over time, I started looking at the platform differently. A crypto exchange is not just an order book. It is an environment where liquidity, products, information, community, execution and trust all have to work together.

That is where the difference becomes visible.

Reaching 60 million users is not just another large number to put on a banner. It is a signal that the crypto market has changed dramatically. Millions of people are no longer simply watching Bitcoin or Ethereum from the sidelines. They are exploring digital assets, learning about new sectors, looking for opportunities and becoming participants in a rapidly changing financial ecosystem.

But here is the important part:

60 million users should not be treated as the finish line.

It should be treated as a responsibility.

Every additional user means higher expectations. More users means the platform has to become more reliable, more transparent, easier to navigate and more useful for different levels of traders. A beginner should be able to learn without feeling overwhelmed, while an experienced trader should still have the tools necessary to operate efficiently.

That is the standard I think matters.

I have also learned that staying in crypto is not about chasing every pump.

Anyone can show up when the market is green.

The real test comes during volatility, uncertainty, sudden corrections and periods when the easy trades disappear.

That is when users start asking different questions:

Can I execute when the market moves quickly?

Can I find the information I need?

Are there enough products for different strategies?

Can I continue learning while participating?

Does the platform continue building when market attention disappears?

Those questions matter far more than temporary hype.

What keeps me interested in Gate is the broader direction of the ecosystem.

The crypto industry is moving beyond the simple idea of “buy and sell.” Spot trading, derivatives, Web3, AI, prediction markets, token launches, pre-IPO opportunities, social trading and other emerging financial products are becoming part of a much larger digital-asset ecosystem.

The platforms that survive this transition will not simply be the ones with the biggest marketing campaigns.

They will be the ones capable of adapting.

And adaptation is exactly what I watch.

For me, the most interesting part of Gate reaching 60 million users is not the number itself.

It is what that number represents.

60 million users means millions of different experiences.

Some joined during a bull market.

Some arrived during a brutal correction.

Some came looking for their first Bitcoin purchase.

Some came searching for altcoin opportunities.

Some are traders.

Some are investors.

Some are builders.

Some are still learning.

And some probably joined without knowing exactly what they were looking for.

That diversity is what makes a crypto community valuable.

My own journey has also changed the way I judge an exchange.

In the beginning, I used to think the most important question was:

“What can I trade here?”

Now I think the better question is:

“What kind of ecosystem can help me become a better participant in this market?”

That shift matters.

Because crypto moves too quickly for users to depend only on yesterday's knowledge.

A token can emerge overnight.

A narrative can disappear within days.

Liquidity can move rapidly.

AI can create an entirely new category of projects.

Regulation can change the environment.

Institutional participation can reshape market structure.

And technology can make yesterday's trading experience look outdated surprisingly quickly.

So I don't want an exchange that simply stays the same.

I want one that keeps improving with the market.

That is why the 60-million-user milestone caught my attention.

It is not proof that every decision has been perfect. No platform should be judged that way.

It is proof that a significant number of people have chosen to participate in the ecosystem and continue watching where it goes.

And that creates a bigger question:

What comes after 60 million?

100 million?

A deeper Web3 ecosystem?

More sophisticated trading infrastructure?

Better tools for new users?

More integration between AI and digital assets?

A stronger social layer?

More accessible financial products?

I think the next stage of crypto adoption will be less about convincing people that crypto exists and more about making the entire experience useful enough that ordinary users can actually participate intelligently.

That is a much harder challenge.

And it is the challenge I want to see Gate take seriously.

Because user growth without user trust is just a number.

User growth with better products, stronger infrastructure, responsible risk management, useful information and a genuinely active community is something much more meaningful.

So, when did I start using Gate?

The exact date matters less to me than the journey since then.

I stayed because I kept finding reasons to explore more.

I stayed because the ecosystem kept expanding.

I stayed because crypto itself kept changing, and I wanted a platform capable of changing with it.

And most importantly, I stayed because I believe the future of digital assets will belong to platforms that can combine technology, accessibility, liquidity, innovation and community instead of treating them as separate pieces.

Now I want to turn the question back to the Gate community.

When did YOU start using Gate?

Was it because of Bitcoin?

Altcoins?

Futures?

Web3?

Gate Square?

Token launches?

AI?

Or simply because someone recommended it to you?

And more importantly:

What made you stay?

Don't just tell me when you joined.

Tell me the one feature, experience, milestone or moment that made you think:

“This is more than just another exchange.”

Let's compare the journeys of the community that helped Gate reach 60 million users.

Because behind every big user milestone is a story.

60 million users.

60 million starting points.

Countless different journeys.

And one question worth answering:

What made you stay?
