Toyota Motor shares were trading at 3,133 JPY as of September 2nd. The stock, which lost 3.39% during the day, opened at 3,190 JPY and fell to 3,121 JPY. The share is trading below its five-day moving average of 3,145 JPY, while the 10-day average is at 3,120 JPY and the 30-day average is at 3,036 JPY.
Recent Earnings Period
Toyota reported strong financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026. Net profit increased 76% year-on-year to 1.48 trillion yen (approximately $9.4 billion). Revenues rose 10.4% to 13.53 trillion yen. This performance was driven by strong demand in the US and India, as well as favorable exchange rates. The weak yen boosted the value of overseas earnings, contributing approximately 345 billion yen ($2.2 billion) to the company's profit.
Global vehicle sales reached 2.39 million units during the same period. Demand for hybrid models remains strong, particularly in North America and China. The company raised its revenue forecast for the full year 2026 to 54 trillion yen and its net profit estimate to 3.25 trillion yen.
Strategic Investments and Expansion
Toyota continues its efforts to expand its global manufacturing network. The company has decided to invest an additional 400 billion won ($283 million) in Vietnam for electric vehicle production. This investment includes increasing production capacity at the existing Phuc Yen plant and starting the production of electric vehicles and parts. Additionally, a 55 billion baht (approximately $2.27 billion) investment is planned for the conversion to hybrid vehicle production in Thailand.
The company also launched a share buyback program worth 1 trillion yen (approximately $6.7 billion).

According to current data, Toyota's market capitalization is approximately $233 billion. Earnings per share (TTM) is $22.12, while the price-to-earnings ratio is 8.95. Over the past 52 weeks, the share price has ranged from $166.10 to $248.90.
