#USELESS
Can a coin literally called USELESS become the next billion-dollar meme coin?

That is the bold question now circulating around one of Solana’s more recognizable meme tokens, after trader Bonkguy, also known as unipcs, called USELESS his highest-conviction meme trade among his previous positions. His argument is not based simply on the name, hype, or a single green candle. He is pointing to the kind of holder activity, trading-volume strength and price resilience that he believes could allow USELESS to eventually reach a multi-billion-dollar valuation.

Bonkguy has built his reputation around several highly successful meme-coin trades. His publicly cited examples include BONK turning roughly $16,000 into around $20 million, WIF from about $6,000 to more than $1 million, FARTCOIN from roughly $300,000 to around $8 million, alongside major gains from PNUT, POPCAT and other meme positions. Those numbers explain why his latest USELESS call is attracting attention: he is not presenting it as just another random meme bet, but as the trade where his conviction is highest.

But there is an important distinction between a trader's conviction and a guaranteed outcome.

USELESS is currently around the $0.10–$0.11 area, with a market capitalization of roughly $100 million and 24-hour trading volume in the tens of millions of dollars. Current market data also shows approximately 1 billion tokens in circulation, meaning the path from a roughly $100 million valuation to $1 billion would require approximately a 10x expansion in market capitalization, assuming the circulating supply remains broadly unchanged.

That is an aggressive target, but not an impossible mathematical scenario in the meme-coin market.

The more interesting question is whether USELESS can build the liquidity and community participation required to sustain such a move.

The token has already demonstrated that it can attract substantial speculative attention. It previously reached a market capitalization above $400 million before suffering a major correction, showing both sides of the meme-coin equation: explosive upside can arrive quickly, but so can brutal drawdowns. Recent market coverage also notes that USELESS has previously traded more than 90% below its peak, making the current setup a high-volatility recovery story rather than a low-risk investment thesis.

Technically, the current $0.10 area is therefore important.

If USELESS can establish $0.10 as support and continue producing higher lows, the next challenge would be the $0.12–$0.125 region. Current market data shows a recent 24-hour high around $0.1244, making that zone an immediate test for buyers. A decisive breakout above that area with expanding volume could strengthen the argument that the token is entering another momentum phase.

Above that, $0.15 becomes the next psychological milestone.

A move from $0.10 to $0.15 would represent a 50% increase in price. If momentum continued toward $0.20, the market capitalization would approach roughly $200 million under the current supply assumption. Reclaiming the previous major high around $0.40–$0.44 would be a completely different level of confirmation, because it would show that USELESS is once again approaching the valuation range where it previously attracted major market attention.

But meme coins require a different technical framework from large-cap assets.

RSI can remain overbought for extended periods during a strong meme rally, so an elevated RSI is not automatically a sell signal. What matters more is whether momentum remains supported by increasing volume and whether pullbacks continue to produce higher lows.

MACD would be another confirmation tool. A bullish crossover accompanied by expanding spot volume would make the momentum setup more convincing. Conversely, if price pushes higher while MACD momentum weakens and volume falls, that could indicate that the rally is becoming increasingly dependent on short-term speculation.

VWAP is also worth watching for shorter-term traders. If USELESS consistently holds above VWAP after breaking resistance, buyers are showing stronger control of the active trading session. Repeated failures below VWAP would suggest that sellers are still using rallies to exit.

The most important metric, however, may not be an indicator at all.

Liquidity.

A meme coin can move 30%, 50% or even 100% incredibly quickly when liquidity is thin. That creates spectacular charts, but it also creates spectacular downside risk. A sustainable move toward a billion-dollar market cap would require more than one viral post. It would need persistent trading activity, new participants, deeper liquidity and a community capable of maintaining attention after the first wave of excitement disappears.

This is also why Bonkguy's historical record should be viewed carefully.

A trader turning thousands into millions in previous meme trades demonstrates an ability to identify major opportunities, but past returns do not guarantee the same outcome with USELESS. The fact that a highly successful trader has strong conviction can attract attention and liquidity, but ultimately the market still decides whether that conviction becomes reality.

And there is another interesting element to USELESS itself.

The token's branding is almost the perfect meme.

The name says “USELESS,” while the market is asking whether it can become anything but useless.

That contradiction is exactly the kind of narrative that can spread quickly in crypto. Meme coins do not always need complicated utility to attract attention. Sometimes the strongest asset is simply a memorable identity combined with community participation, liquidity and the right market cycle.

Still, I would not confuse a strong narrative with a guaranteed 10x.

For USELESS to seriously challenge the billion-dollar milestone, I would want to see a sequence rather than one explosive candle: first, sustained support around $0.10; then a clean break above $0.12–$0.125; followed by a move toward $0.15 and $0.20 with rising volume. After that, reclaiming the previous $0.40+ area would become the major long-term technical test.

If those levels are reached with strong liquidity rather than a temporary volume spike, the billion-dollar discussion becomes considerably more credible.

For now, the setup is simple but extremely high-risk: a roughly $100 million meme coin is being discussed as a potential $1 billion-plus asset, while one of the market's most successful meme traders is publicly calling it his highest-conviction trade.

That makes USELESS interesting.

It does not make it safe.

My takeaway is that the next phase should be judged by price structure and liquidity, not by the headline alone. If buyers can turn $0.10 into solid support and break $0.125 with convincing volume, the market may start taking the billion-dollar thesis more seriously.

Until then, the most appropriate description is still a high-risk, high-volatility meme-coin bet with an unusually strong narrative behind it.

And perhaps the funniest part of the entire story is this:

If USELESS really does become a billion-dollar meme coin, the coin with the most ironic name in the market might end up proving just how useful a meme can be. @Gate_Square
