A New Era for Gate: US Stock Options Now Available on the Platform

Gate has begun offering its users direct access to US stock options through its platform as of September 2, 2026. This development marks the latest step in Gate's expansion strategy into traditional financial products. Existing users can access this new instrument without needing to open an additional account or arrange separate financing.

Initially, the options offered are defined around the most followed technology stocks in the market. The list includes Nvidia, Tesla, Apple, Meta Platforms, AMD, Micron Technology, Amazon, Alphabet, and Broadcom. This selection provides a framework for users to develop both growth-oriented and value-driven strategies. The platform is expected to expand this list with more stocks and ETFs in the future.

The trading period for options is limited to standard US market trading hours. Trading is possible weekdays between 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM New York time, and is suspended on US holidays and during early market closing times. This arrangement aims to provide a trading environment consistent with spot market conditions, which are the fundamental basis of option pricing.

One of the most notable aspects of the process is that transactions are conducted in USDT, with no physical delivery. This eliminates the need for users to hold shares or cash on hand when managing their option positions. All calculations and settlements are made in digital assets according to the settlement price determined at the end of the relevant maturity period.

The platform's pricing policy for offering this service also differs from existing market practices. Gate does not charge any platform fees, commissions, or delivery costs for option transactions. The only cost to users is the legal obligations levied by US regulatory and clearing institutions. These external costs consist of fixed amounts per transaction and proportional deductions applied to sales transactions.

This step is considered part of Gate's planned progress towards increasing the variety of products it offers its users. Following the previously launched stock and ETF trading, the addition of options aims to diversify users' portfolios and expand their access to risk management tools. To activate this service, users need to update the application to the latest version and enable stock trading in their account settings.
