2022 vs Today — How Trading Changed Me
When I joined Gate in 2022, I thought becoming a better trader meant learning more charts, finding better entries, and catching the next big move.

I was constantly watching the market.

Every green candle looked like an opportunity.
Every red candle felt like a warning.
Every sudden pump made me wonder if I was already too late. 😂

Back then, I wanted to predict everything.

Today, I understand that I don’t need to.

2022: I wanted to be right.
Today: I want to manage my risk when I’m wrong.

2022: A missed trade felt like a missed opportunity.
Today: I know another setup will eventually come.

2022: I focused heavily on entries.
Today: I think about the exit before entering.

2022: One profitable trade could make me overconfident.
Today: One good trade doesn’t change my strategy.

2022: Losses felt personal.
Today: I try to treat them as feedback.

The biggest change, however, has nothing to do with charts.

It’s patience.

I’ve learned that sometimes doing nothing is actually a decision. The market will always give you another candle, another setup, and another opportunity. There’s no need to force one just because you’re watching the screen.

I’ve also learned that risk management is what keeps you around long enough to learn. Making money feels great, but protecting your capital gives you the chance to keep participating when the next opportunity comes.

And then there’s FOMO — probably one of the most expensive emotions in trading. 😂

Watching something pump without you can be uncomfortable. But chasing it after the move has already happened usually creates more problems than missing it ever would.

Looking back, I wouldn’t say I became a trader who can predict the market.

I became a trader who understands that I don’t have to predict every move.

That’s my biggest evolution since joining Gate in 2022.

From trying to catch every opportunity to learning which opportunities are actually worth taking.

From reacting to the market to responding with a plan.

And from measuring success by individual trades to measuring it by consistency, discipline, and staying in the game.

Now Gate has reached 60 million users, and it’s interesting to look back at how different my mindset was when I started compared with where I am today.

The market is still unpredictable.

The charts are still humbling. 😂

But I’m definitely not the same trader who started in 2022.

And honestly, that growth is one of the most valuable parts of the journey. 💙
