GateToken is the native exchange token of Gate.io.
• Utility: GT is used for trading fee discounts on Gate.io, Launchpad participation, HODL & Earn, and governance. GateChain is the underlying Layer1 for GT.
• Tokenomics: GT has a burn mechanism. Gate.io uses profits to buy back and burn GT, making it deflationary over time. Total supply decreases, unlike inflationary exchange tokens.
• Why -53% Yearly Despite +22% Monthly? GT peaked in early 2024-2025 with exchange token hype, then corrected hard with market. The last 30-90 days show recovery +22.07% / +21.32% as Gate.io Alpha, meme launchpads and GT staking yields increased.
• Difference from BTC/ENA: GT is a centralized exchange token, price is directly tied to Gate.io volume and burn activity, not just market sentiment.

2. WHAT TO WATCH - CRITICAL POINTS
