U.S. strikes on Iranian energy sites have pushed oil higher and brought the Strait of Hormuz back into the risk premium. WTI has broken above 90 and Brent has moved through 95. The question now is how long the rally can sustain once the initial geopolitical bid is absorbed.

On the 4-hour CLUSDT chart price is currently trading around 90.71. The 9-period MA sits at 88.69 and the 50-period MA is lower at 84.00. Bollinger Bands stretch from 81.14 on the downside to 91.54 on the upside, with the middle band near 86.34. Price has broken above the upper band and is testing the SRL resistance at 91.54. That level is the clear near-term ceiling. Support starts at the 9-period MA near 88.69, followed by the middle band at 86.34 and the deeper 84.00–81.14 zone.

RSI is at 85.74, firmly overbought on the 4-hour timeframe. MACD remains positive with the histogram still expanding, showing that momentum has not yet rolled over despite the stretch.

The bullish case is a clean hold above 88.69 and a subsequent break of 91.54. If the Strait of Hormuz risk remains elevated and physical supply concerns persist, the path of least resistance stays higher. In that scenario the entire 88.70–86.30 zone becomes the first support band on any pullback.

The bearish case starts with a failure to hold 88.69. A break back under that level on rising volume would likely target 86.34 and open the door toward 84.00. After a sharp geopolitical spike and with RSI already extreme, some mean-reversion is normal once the immediate headline premium fades.

I am treating 91.54 as the immediate upside pivot and 88.69 as the short-term trend filter. The geopolitical risk is real, but the chart still has to confirm whether buyers are willing to defend the breakout or whether the move was mostly a one-day liquidity event. Size stays measured until one of those levels resolves with volume.

How long do you think this oil rally can sustain? Are you treating the break of 90 as the start of a larger move, or already looking for mean-reversion under 88.70? Share your levels.
