BTC Event Contract Trade View | September 2, 2026
Bitcoin is trading around $77,485, with the market currently caught between short-term selling pressure and the possibility of a relief rebound. With oil rising sharply on renewed U.S.-Iran tensions, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield moving above 4.8%, and markets pricing a higher probability of a September Fed rate hike, BTC is facing a clear risk-off macro environment.
For this Event Contract setup, my market view is SHORT / bearish over a short prediction window. The reason is not simply that BTC is below $78K; the broader macro backdrop is also working against high-beta assets. At the current $77,485 area, I would rather trade a confirmed rejection than chase a bounce without confirmation.
Trade setup
Asset: BTC
Current reference price: ~$77,485
Direction: SHORT
Prediction period: 1 hour
Entry reference: ~$77,500
Position size: 50 USDT
Leverage: Not applicable for Event Contract direction trading
Take-profit / target: ~$76,900
Invalidation level: ~$77,900
Expected exit/settlement reference: ~$76,900 if bearish momentum continues
P&L / settlement: To be updated from the actual Gate Event Contract settlement screenshot
The core technical idea is simple: $77K–$77.5K is the immediate decision zone. If BTC fails to reclaim and hold above the $77.8K–$78K region, sellers can remain in control. A move toward $76.9K would confirm that the short-term downside structure is still active.
The macro backdrop strengthens this setup. Reuters reported Bitcoin around $77,485.49 today while Brent crude moved near $95.36 and the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield reached 4.812%, its highest level since November 2023. Markets were also pricing roughly a 68% probability of a September Fed rate hike.
That combination matters because higher oil prices can reinforce inflation expectations, while higher Treasury yields increase the opportunity cost of holding risk assets. If the dollar and yields remain firm, Bitcoin may struggle to regain the psychological $78K–$80K zone immediately.
For the chart screenshot, I would make sure the BTC price, Event Contract direction, prediction period, order/position details and settlement result are clearly visible. If RSI and MACD are available on the chart, they should also be visible because they make the trade thesis easier to verify. A useful confirmation would be RSI failing to recover strongly from the neutral zone while MACD remains bearish or shows weakening momentum.
The important part of this trade is not predicting every Bitcoin candle. It is defining the invalidation level before entering. If BTC breaks above the $77.9K area with convincing momentum, the bearish thesis loses strength and the position should not be defended simply because the original prediction was SHORT.
Gate’s current Event Contract campaign allows users to predict BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, HYPE or BNB over short periods including 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour and 4 hours, choosing a bullish or bearish direction.
The separate Gate Square trade-sharing challenge requires a genuine Event Contract position, transaction or settlement screenshot, at least 50 characters of original content, the contract, prediction period, direction and supporting reason or result review, together with the required campaign hashtag. The current campaign runs through September 10, 2026, and eligible users can participate in daily rewards.
So my current BTC view is clear:
BTC ~$77,485 → SHORT bias → watch $77K support → $76.9K downside target → $77.9K invalidation.
This is a market-view example, not a guarantee of settlement. The final P&L and exit price should always be taken directly from the actual Gate Event Contract settlement screen, so the screenshot accurately represents the completed trade.
