#StrategyAdds4603BTC

Strategy just put $369.7M back into Bitcoin — and the timing matters.
Strategy confirmed the purchase of 4,603 BTC at an average $80,318, taking its total holdings to 845,050 BTC. The purchase was funded through its at-the-market share offering, while the company also repurchased about $151.8M of STRC preferred stock. Its reported average Bitcoin acquisition cost now stands at $75,412.

The bigger signal is the change in pace. Strategy had reduced its Bitcoin position through several sales during the summer before this latest purchase, so the return to accumulation is notable. It suggests the company is again willing to deploy capital into BTC around the $80K area rather than waiting for a much deeper pullback.

For Bitcoin, this is structurally bullish but not automatically a short-term price catalyst. A $370M purchase adds real demand, but BTC trades in a market with enormous daily turnover. The more important question is whether Strategy's buying is joined by sustained ETF/institutional demand and improving liquidity.

And the broader backdrop is currently less friendly. BTC is trading below the $80K psychological level, while today's market is dealing with higher oil prices, rising Treasury yields and renewed inflation concerns linked to escalating U.S.–Iran tensions. Markets are now pricing a significantly higher probability of a September Fed hike, creating pressure on risk assets.

That creates two competing forces.

Bullish case: Strategy resumes accumulation, institutional demand remains firm, BTC holds the mid-$76K/$77K area and eventually reclaims $80K with volume.

Bearish case: macro risk continues to deteriorate, the dollar and yields rise further, and BTC loses recent support. In that environment, even aggressive corporate buying may not prevent another correction.

One detail is especially important: Strategy's latest purchase was made at $80,318, while BTC is currently below that level. So this announcement should not be treated as proof that $80K is a guaranteed floor.

My takeaway: the purchase strengthens Bitcoin's long-term institutional accumulation story, but the next confirmation has to come from the market itself. Watch $80K, ETF flows, liquidity, Treasury yields and whether Strategy continues buying in the coming weeks.

The whale is buying again. Now the market has to decide whether it wants to follow.
