My DOGE Short: Project View, Chart Analysis and My Trade Review
1. My View on the DOGE Project
I see Dogecoin as a unique case in crypto. It started as a meme coin, but I respect its staying power. It has one of the largest and most loyal communities, high liquidity, and it is listed almost everywhere. For me, its strength is not technology, it is social consensus and brand recognition.
From my perspective, the weakness is clear: unlimited supply and inflationary tokenomics. This is why I never treat DOGE as a long-term value store in my own portfolio. I treat it as a high-beta sentiment asset. When the market is fearful, I have observed that DOGE often dumps harder than BTC. That characteristic is exactly why I chose it for a short-term short.
2. My Chart Analysis Before Entry
I was watching the 1H timeframe. DOGE had pumped to 0.08643, then I saw a sharp impulsive sell-off to 0.08076. That move broke the prior sideways consolidation for me.
My entry was at 0.08501. I took a short with 10x leverage in isolated mode. Here is my logic:
a) Structure: The bounce after the dump was weak and low-volume in my eyes. For me, it looked like a dead-cat bounce into broken support turned resistance.
b) Moving Averages: On my chart, EMA5 was 0.08238, EMA10 was 0.08255, EMA30 was 0.08337. Price was trading below all three, and the EMAs were stacked bearishly above price. I entered on the retest of that EMA cluster.
c) Momentum: MFI (14) was around 44.56. It was recovering from oversold but failing to show strong money inflow. I read this as lack of buying conviction.
My unrealized profit is currently +33.73% on margin. I am sharing only the percentage to focus on process, not size.
3. Why I Opened From That Exact Level
I did not want to chase the breakdown. I waited for price to come back up to 0.08501, which was the breakdown point on my chart. My liquidation level is far above at 0.09273, which gave me room for wicks. I used isolated margin to strictly limit my risk to a very small portion of my capital.
4. My Mistakes in This Trade
I have to be honest about my errors:
1. I entered a bit early. I should have waited for a full 1H candle close below the resistance. I acted on intuition. 2. I did not write down my take-profit plan before entry. Once the trade went in my favor, I became indecisive about where to exit. 3. I ignored funding costs. Holding too long eats into my edge with periodic fees. 4. I did not quantify volume divergence properly. I saw it visually but I did not measure it.
5. What I Will Pay More Attention To Next Time
• I will create a written plan before every trade: entry, invalidation, and scaled exits. • I will lower my leverage when volatility is high instead of using a fixed 10x. • I will check multi-timeframe alignment. If the 4H trend conflicts with my 1H signal, I will cut my size in half. • I will apply my breakeven rule: once profit exceeds +30%, I will move my stop to entry to protect my capital.
6. My Realistic Suggestions For Readers
This is not investment advice, only my personal process:
1. I learned to never risk money I cannot afford to lose, especially with leverage. 2. I suggest not relying on a single indicator. I combine structure, trend, and momentum. 3. I personally prefer isolated mode to keep risk contained. 4. I recommend journaling. Writing my mistakes has taught me more than my wins. 5. I believe missing a trade is always better than taking a plan-less trade driven by FOMO.
For me, the real win here is not the +33.73%. It is building a repeatable and disciplined system.
