$NVDA just delivered. Now the real test begins. $NVDA

NVIDIA’s fiscal Q2 2027 results were not just a beat — they were a statement.

Revenue came in at $96.2B against roughly $92B consensus. Data Center hit $89.0B versus about $85.4B expected. Adjusted EPS printed $2.22 against $2.09. Gross margin held firm at 75 percent.

Even more important: the company guided Q3 revenue to $108B plus or minus 2 percent — well above the roughly $104B Street expectation — while still assuming zero Data Center compute revenue from China.

This is no longer about whether NVIDIA can grow.
It is about whether the market will keep believing the growth can stay this strong for years.

The guidance was the real signal.

Wall Street was watching three things:
1. Is hyperscaler and AI infrastructure spending still accelerating?
2. Can NVIDIA protect margins while scaling?
3. Does the next-quarter outlook clear an already elevated bar?

All three boxes were checked.
Blackwell Ultra is ramping hard. ACIE revenue grew 25 percent sequentially. Management is now pointing to approximately 70 percent revenue growth in fiscal 2028 — significantly above prior consensus.

Price action already told part of the story.

Before the report, $NVDA suffered multiple sessions of selling as AI valuation concerns and profit-taking intensified.
The post-earnings rebound showed that many were positioned for disappointment. The actual numbers forced a sharp re-pricing higher.

Options had been pricing roughly a 5 percent move. The actual reaction was larger — a classic reminder that when expectations are this high, even a strong beat can still produce violent two-way trading.

Three possible paths from here:

Bull Case
Guidance continues to climb, Vera Rubin ramps cleanly, and AI infrastructure spending remains structural rather than cyclical. $NVDA leads the entire AI complex higher again — memory, opticals, power, and networking.

Base Case
Results stay strong but sequential upside becomes harder. The stock grinds higher on earnings beats while multiples slowly compress. Capital rotates selectively inside AI rather than lifting everything.

Bear Case
Any slowdown in hyperscaler capex, margin pressure from rising component costs, or delayed Rubin contribution triggers a sharp de-rating of high-multiple AI names.

What actually matters now

The market is no longer asking if NVIDIA is a great company.
That question was answered years ago.

The only question left is: Can future growth keep exceeding an already extraordinary set of expectations?

Q2 proved the engine is still running at full power.
Q3 guidance raised the bar even higher.

For $NVDA, the headline numbers were excellent.
But the guidance, the China zero assumption, and the fiscal 2028 growth commentary are what will decide the next leg of the AI trade.
