#GateStockInsightsChallenge +#MRVL Technology ($MRVL) has entered a very interesting phase. The question from Gate is whether the AI-chip rally can continue after earnings, whether market expectations were too high, and whether the positive Google AI-chip partnership was already priced into the stock. My view is that MRVL’s long-term AI story remains strong, but the short-term setup has become much more sensitive to guidance, margins and the timing of Google-related revenue.
The latest earnings have already answered part of the question. MRVL reported $2.74B revenue versus roughly $2.71B expected, while adjusted EPS came in at $0.94 versus $0.93 expected. That means revenue beat by about 1.1% and EPS beat by roughly 1.1%. Q3 guidance was also strong at approximately $3.15B revenue and $1.10 adjusted EPS.
However, this is where the market reaction becomes important. Despite beating expectations, MRVL suffered a sharp decline because traders wanted much more immediate evidence that the Google AI-chip partnership would materially accelerate revenue. The stock recently closed around $216.62, down approximately 10.3% in one session. From the recent $240+ area, the correction is roughly 10%, showing how aggressively expectations had been built into the price.
The Google partnership remains the biggest long-term catalyst. Marvell's agreement with Google could potentially generate up to $120B of revenue through fiscal 2033, while Google received a warrant for up to approximately 58.97M MRVL shares, worth around $12.2B at the agreed price. This is a major vote of confidence in Marvell's custom-chip capabilities.
But there is an important catch: investors were expecting the Google deal to contribute meaningfully much earlier. Management indicated that the major financial impact is more back-loaded, with the biggest benefits expected in later fiscal years. That explains why the stock could fall even after good earnings. The numbers were good, but expectations were extremely high.
Another major positive is Marvell's upgraded long-term outlook. Management now expects approximately $12B revenue in fiscal 2027 and around $18B in fiscal 2028, compared with previous expectations of roughly $11.5B and $16.5B. That represents approximately 4.3% and 9.1% upgrades respectively from the previous figures.
Data-center demand is also the core engine. Recent reporting showed data-center revenue around $2.17B, up approximately 46% year over year, representing about 79% of total sales. This tells me the AI infrastructure story is not simply speculation—the underlying business is already heavily exposed to AI-related demand.
My MRVL Price Forecast
With the current reference price of $217.60, I would divide the outlook into three scenarios.
Bearish scenario: If MRVL loses $215, the next important zone is around $205–$210. A decisive break below $205 could open the door toward $195–$200. From $217.60, $200 represents approximately -8.1%, while $195 represents approximately -10.4%.
Base scenario: If buyers defend $215–$220, MRVL can attempt a recovery toward $228–$235. A move from $217.60 to $235 would be approximately +8.0%. This is the zone I would watch first for evidence that buyers are returning.
Bullish scenario: If MRVL recovers $235 and then breaks $240–$245 with strong volume, momentum could potentially target $255–$265. From $217.60, $255 is approximately +17.2%, while $265 would be around +21.8%. A stronger AI-sector rally could eventually bring $280–$300 into view, representing approximately +28.7% to +37.9% from $217.60—but I would treat that as a medium-term bullish target rather than an immediate expectation.
Key Support Levels
My important support map would be:
$215–$217: Immediate support/current decision zone.
$205–$210: Stronger pullback support.
$195–$200: Major psychological support.
$185–$190: Deeper correction zone if the AI sector enters a broad risk-off phase.
The most important level for bulls is $215. If price repeatedly holds this area and starts creating higher lows, the probability of a recovery increases.
Key Resistance Levels
The upside map is:
$225–$228: First recovery resistance.
$235–$240: Major short-term resistance.
$245–$250: Breakout confirmation zone.
$255–$265: Momentum target.
$280–$300: Bigger medium-term bullish zone.
The most important technical event would be a clean move above $240–$245 with strong volume. That would suggest that the recent earnings disappointment has been absorbed and buyers are once again willing to pay higher prices.
Trading Strategy
I would not chase MRVL aggressively after a sharp move. The better strategy is to watch price reaction around support.
For a conservative approach, traders can wait for MRVL to stabilize around $215–$220, then look for a higher low and improving momentum.
A move above $228 would provide an early confirmation, while $235–$245 is the more important breakout region.
For momentum traders, a confirmed breakout above $245 could create a path toward $255–$265. But if MRVL fails to hold $215 and volume expands on the downside, protecting capital becomes more important than trying to catch the bottom.
For longer-term investors, the Google partnership and custom-AI business provide a compelling growth story, but the key issue is timing. The market may have to wait for future quarters before the full financial impact becomes visible.
What Are Traders Thinking?
The trader mindset appears divided.
Bulls are focusing on AI infrastructure demand, the huge Google relationship, rising custom-chip opportunities, stronger fiscal 2027/2028 revenue expectations and accelerating data-center growth.
Bears are focusing on valuation, the enormous expectations already reflected in MRVL's price, the delayed Google revenue contribution and the possibility that AI enthusiasm has moved faster than near-term fundamentals.
That disagreement explains the volatility. MRVL can have a good quarter and still fall because “good” was not good enough for the market.
Final View
My overall view is cautiously bullish for the medium-to-long term, but neutral-to-cautious for the immediate short term.
At $217.60, I would watch $215 as the first major decision level. Holding $215–$220 could create the foundation for a recovery toward $228 → $235 → $245. Above $245, the next potential targets become $255–$265, with $280–$300 possible later if AI demand, margins and Google-related expectations continue improving.
But if $215 breaks decisively, I would not ignore the downside. $205–$210 becomes the next important area, followed by $195–$200.
So, has the AI story ended? No. Has the positive news already been partly priced in? Absolutely.
That is the key lesson from this earnings reaction.
MRVL still has a powerful AI/custom-silicon growth story, but from here the stock needs real revenue growth, improving margins and clearer evidence of future Google-related business rather than simply more headlines.
My base-case roadmap:
$215 support → $228 → $235 → $245 breakout → $255–$265.
Risk roadmap: $215 breakdown → $205–$210 → $195–$200.
