Workday is showing a clear recovery structure on the daily chart and the latest session has pushed price to 204.47 after a 5.53 percent advance. The move has taken the stock back toward the upper end of its recent range and is worth examining step by step for anyone following software and enterprise names.
Price closed at 204.47 after printing a high of 207.70. The 50-period EMA sits at 167.03 and the 200-period EMA is almost identical at 166.10. Bollinger Bands stretch from 163.64 on the downside to 212.63 on the upside, with the middle band near 188.13. Price has broken above the middle band and is pressing toward the upper band and the SRL resistance at 212.63. That level is the clear near-term ceiling. Support now starts at the middle band near 188, followed by the EMA cluster around 167–166 and the deeper 163.64 zone.
RSI has climbed to 66.13, elevated but not yet extreme. MACD remains positive with the histogram constructive, showing that momentum is still on the side of the buyers.
Step one is the immediate pivot. A clean hold above 188 on rising volume would be the first sign that the recovery is gaining traction. Acceptance above 188 keeps the higher-low structure intact and opens the door to a push toward 212.63.
Step two is the upside target. A break and hold of 212.63 would target the prior swing area and confirm that buyers are willing to pay through the recent range high. In that scenario the entire 188–167 region becomes the first support band on any pullback.
Step three is the downside filter. Failure to hold 188 on a daily closing basis would likely send price back toward the EMA cluster at 167–166. A break of that level would open the door to 163.64 and signal that the recovery has stalled.
My take is straightforward. I am treating 212.63 as the immediate upside pivot and 188 as the short-term trend filter. Until price either accepts above the upper band or loses the middle band with conviction, size stays measured. The recovery from the earlier lows is constructive, but the chart still has to prove it can convert the current momentum into sustained acceptance above 212.
Final point: the next few daily closes will matter more than any single session. A hold above 188 keeps the bullish case alive. A break under it shifts the short-term bias lower until proven otherwise.
Are you adding on a break of 212, waiting for a retest of 188, or already taking partial profits into the strength? Share your levels and the reasoning behind them.
