#GateStockInsightsChallenge
Stock Insights Challenge is a long-form equity research contest built for writers who want to go beyond hot takes. The goal is clear: reward deep, data-driven, educational stock write-ups that stay useful for months.
How It Works
Writers publish original stock insights during the contest window. Each strong entry follows a simple frame: thesis, business, financials, valuation, risks, outlook.
Thesis gives the core idea in two lines. Business explains how the firm earns, who pays, and why pricing holds. Financials review 8 quarters of sales growth, gross margin, operating margin, cash flow, and debt. Valuation uses peer multiples and historical bands to set a fair range. Risks list what could break the thesis. Outlook lists near-term drivers like earnings date, new product, capacity add, or policy shift.
Judging often looks at three pillars: originality, depth, and clarity. Originality rewards a fresh angle. Depth rewards joint reading of income, balance sheet, and cash flow. Clarity rewards clean structure and plain prose.
What Wins
Top posts share traits:
• Sharp open: what the firm does and why now matters
• Clear model: revenue split, key client groups, repeat sales
• Trend table: sales, margin, inventory days, receivable days
• Cash discipline: operating cash, capex, free cash, net debt to EBITDA
• Fair value: bull, base, bear case with simple math
• Calendar: upcoming catalysts with dates
• Honest risk: competition, cost pressure, FX, leadership shift
Posts that only show a price chart or repeat news headlines score low. Winners show both upside and downside with figures.
Workflow For High Quality
Spend 3 to 4 hours per idea. Read the latest earnings deck first, then build a trend sheet from filings. Compare with 2 to 3 peers on growth and margin. Write 800 to 1500 words with headers and short tables. Add one chart for margin trend and one for sales mix if possible.
Consistency beats one viral post. Writers who publish each week build trust and a clear track record. Over time, the Challenge becomes a public journal of your stock skill, useful for learning and for credibility.
