Event Contracts on Gate: Trade the Direction, Earn Up to 1% Volume Rewards
Right now the crypto market is in a short-term pullback, and that volatility is exactly where Event Contracts become interesting. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading around $77,600, down about 2.6 percent over the last 24 hours, after swinging between roughly $76,890 and $79,840. Ethereum is near $2,438, down about 2.3 percent, with a daily range between roughly $2,406 and $2,526. Solana sits around $103.90, down 2.7 percent, XRP is near $1.38, down about 2.6 percent, Dogecoin is around $0.0845 after a 3.4 percent drop, BNB is near $687.80, down about 3.0 percent, and HYPE is around $81.70, down 2.3 percent. Across the whole market, roughly $86 billion changed hands in the past 24 hours on a total crypto market capitalization of about $2.7 trillion, with Bitcoin dominance near 59.5 percent. When prices move this quickly in both directions, a product built purely on direction calls becomes both exciting and rewarding.
So what exactly are Event Contracts? They are a simple, leverage-free way to trade price direction. You predict whether an asset like BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, HYPE or BNB will go up or down over a short window of 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour or 4 hours. You choose up or down, enter an amount, submit your order, and the contract settles when the window closes. There is no leverage, no margin call, no liquidation price and no funding rate to manage. Your maximum risk is the amount you put into that single position, which makes the product much easier to understand than a traditional perpetual contract. That simplicity is the reason it appeals to both complete beginners and experienced traders who want fast, clean decisions.
Gate is currently running the Event Contracts Carnival with 1 percent volume rewards and a total prize pool of 200,000 USDT. The campaign runs from August 26, 14:00 to September 2, 08:00 (UTC+8). The first rule of any campaign is to register: you must click the Join Now button on the campaign page before trading, otherwise your volume will not count. You also need to complete identity verification to claim any reward, and rewards are distributed within 7 working days after the event ends.
The centerpiece of this campaign is the volume-based cash reward. Your cumulative Event Contracts volume over the whole event places you in a tier, and each tier pays a fixed percentage of your volume back in cash: 100,000 to 200,000 USDT pays 0.40 percent, 200,000 to 400,000 pays 0.60 percent, 400,000 to 600,000 pays 0.70 percent, 600,000 to 800,000 pays 0.80 percent, 800,000 to 1,000,000 pays 0.90 percent, and volume above 1,000,000 USDT pays the maximum 1.00 percent. To put those percentages into perspective, 150,000 USDT of volume at 0.40 percent equals 600 USDT, 500,000 USDT at 0.70 percent equals 3,500 USDT, and 1,000,000 USDT at 1.00 percent equals a theoretical 10,000 USDT in cash rewards. Keep in mind these are maximum theoretical figures that depend on the prize pools, tier caps and the exact official terms, so always treat them as estimates rather than guarantees.
On top of the volume tier, there are daily rewards that make consistent participation pay off. Every day, if your cumulative Event Contracts volume reaches at least 500 USDT, you earn 2.5 USDT for that day, and if it reaches at least 1,000 USDT, you earn 10 USDT for that day. You can only claim one tier per day, and you need at least 3 qualifying days during the event to receive anything. If you hit the higher tier every single day, the maximum daily reward is 70 USDT over the whole campaign. There is also a check-in pool of 10,000 USDT: complete at least 3 market trades in a day with at least 20 USDT of daily volume to check in, and users with 3 or more check-in days share the pool proportionally, up to 10 USDT per person. New users should also look at the separate new-user exclusive campaign, which offers a 5.5 USDT sign-up bonus on top of everything else.
Now for my honest opinion. I like Event Contracts because they remove the two things that scare most beginners away from crypto trading: leverage and liquidation risk. When you know your maximum loss is simply the amount you committed to one position, you can think clearly, and the short 5-minute to 4-hour windows force you to actually observe the market instead of holding a position and hoping. The 1 percent volume reward is not free money, it is an incentive for activity, so the smartest way to use it is to treat the percentage as a bonus on trading you would do anyway. Consistency beats size in this campaign: stacking the daily tier rewards and check-in days can earn meaningful cash even if your volume never reaches the top bracket. But please do not increase your position sizes just to chase a percentage. Trade amounts you are comfortable losing, respect your own limits, and let the reward be a pleasant addition rather than the reason you trade. Markets move fast, and discipline always comes first.
Why Gate for this? Gate is one of the largest global crypto exchanges, with more than 5,000 assets, deep liquidity across the exact markets featured in Event Contracts, and a track record of listing promising projects early. The platform publishes 100 percent proof of reserves so users can verify funds, and it has built a complete ecosystem around trading: spot, futures, copy trading, bots, earn products, a vibrant social square and a referral program that pays up to 40 percent commission. The product team has also kept expanding Event Contracts, recently adding DOGE, HYPE and BNB alongside BTC, ETH, SOL and XRP, which shows they are serious about developing this product rather than letting it sit still. Campaigns are structured with clear rules, published announcements and transparent reward distribution, which is exactly the kind of clarity a trader wants before committing volume.
A few practical tips so you can actually benefit. First, register for the campaign before you trade, and do it early so you do not miss a single day of volume counting. Second, read the official terms on the campaign page, including the daily cut-off times and which regions are excluded. Third, plan your volume: if you trade anyway, aim to land your daily volume inside the 1,000 USDT tier on as many days as possible. Fourth, keep records of your own volume so you can check the reward against the published tiers after the event. Finally, remember that the event page values are estimates, the final settlement follows the official announcement, and event contracts still carry market risk despite being leverage-free.
If you have been watching BTC around $77,600, ETH near $2,438 or SOL close to $103.90 and wondering how to act on the daily swings, this is a good moment to understand the product while a campaign is live. The Event Contracts Carnival ends on September 2, so the window is still open. Open the Gate app or website, find the campaign in the Activity Center, read the rules, join, and let the short-cycle markets do the talking. Trade carefully, enjoy the process, and let the rewards come as a bonus to good decisions.
