#GoldmanSachsBullishOnCXMT
Goldman Sachs has opened coverage on CXMT with a Buy rating and a 129 yuan target.
The central argument in the note is capacity. The bank expects monthly production to more than double over the next four years. In a capital-intensive industry like memory and semiconductors, sustained volume growth of that magnitude can change the earnings trajectory even if pricing remains cyclical. The initiation itself also brings a high-profile institutional name into a stock that has largely been driven by domestic flows until now.
On the 4-hour chart the token is trading near 8.31, slightly below the 50-period average at 8.44 and the short moving average at 8.33. Bollinger Bands are relatively compressed between 8.11 and 8.69. RSI sits at 45.27 and MACD is flat to slightly negative. After the earlier advance the price has spent several sessions digesting gains rather than extending. The structure is neutral — neither broken nor yet confirming a fresh leg higher.
The bullish path requires the capacity story to gain traction and the chart to respond. A sustained move back above the 50-period average and the recent local high near 8.69 would be the first technical signal that buyers are treating the initiation as more than a one-day headline. If that occurs, the 129 yuan target becomes a longer-term reference rather than an abstract number.
The more cautious path is that research initiations often produce a short-term reaction that fades when the chart does not confirm. Price is still capped by the 50-period average, volume has normalized, and the broader semiconductor complex remains sensitive to inventory and demand data. Without follow-through, the capacity projection stays a multi-year story while the near-term price action stays range-bound.
I focus on the production outlook more than the rating itself. Ratings can be revised; a credible plan to more than double monthly capacity, if executed, alters the fundamental base. The chart is currently in a holding pattern, so the practical question is whether the new coverage can generate enough interest to push price back through the nearby averages.
Are you giving the Goldman capacity thesis enough weight to look at CXMT here, or do you want to see the 4-hour chart reclaim the 50-period average first?
