NVIDIA Earnings Night: Is the 7-Day Selloff Setting Up the Next Big Move?
NVIDIA is heading into one of the biggest earnings events of 2026, and the market is giving traders a fascinating setup. After seven consecutive red sessions, the stock has fallen roughly 7.5%, wiping hundreds of billions from its market value and pushing shares toward the $210 area in pre-market trading.
The big question is no longer whether NVIDIA can deliver massive growth. The real question is whether even massive growth is enough to satisfy a market with extremely high expectations.
Wall Street is looking for approximately $92 billion in quarterly revenue, representing nearly 100% year-over-year growth, while adjusted EPS expectations sit around $2.08–$2.09. Those numbers would be extraordinary for almost any company, but NVIDIA has changed the standard. Investors will also focus heavily on forward guidance and gross margins, with the company targeting around 75% non-GAAP gross margin.
The bullish argument remains incredibly strong. NVIDIA reportedly has an enormous AI-driven order pipeline extending across 2026 and 2027, while the upcoming Vera Rubin platform could become the next major growth engine. Hyperscalers continue investing aggressively in AI infrastructure, and NVIDIA remains at the center of that entire capital-expenditure cycle.
But there is a major risk.
NVIDIA can beat expectations and still see its stock fall.
The market has reached a point where a simple earnings beat may not be enough. Investors want a beat, strong guidance, healthy margins, and convincing evidence that AI spending is still accelerating. Anything less could trigger another round of profit-taking.
For me, the key levels are clear:
📈 Bullish breakout zone: $220
🎯 First upside target: $225–$230
🚀 Major upside zone: $236–$245
📉 Important support: $204–$207
⚠️ Risk zone: Below $197–$200
My view is cautiously bullish. Seven straight red days have already removed some of the excessive optimism, and that could create a better risk-to-reward setup if NVIDIA delivers another major beat.
The strongest bullish scenario would be simple: revenue above expectations, guidance raised, gross margins holding above 75%, and strong commentary around Vera Rubin demand. In that case, a powerful move back toward the previous highs would not be surprising.
The safer approach, however, is to trade the reaction rather than blindly predict the headline. If NVDA gaps higher and holds above $220 with strong volume, momentum could accelerate quickly. If it drops below $204 and struggles to recover, the market may be signaling that expectations were simply too high.
This earnings report is bigger than one stock. NVIDIA is now a major test of the global AI investment cycle. A strong report could lift the entire semiconductor and AI sector, while a disappointing guide could create pressure across the market.
My strategy: stay disciplined, watch $220 as the major pivot, respect the $204–$197 support area, and never ignore risk management during earnings volatility.
NVIDIA has the numbers. Tonight, we find out whether it also has the surprise Wall Street still wants.
