Meta is trying to bottom after a brutal -23% correction from the July $686 peak, and today's bounce above MA5 shows buyers are finally stepping back in.

META (Meta Platforms, Inc. Class A) trades at $559.18, up +9.27 (+1.68%) on the day, with After-Hours at $559.18 0.00 (0.00%). The session printed High $561.39, Low $546.36, Open $549.66, Prev Close $549.91, Range % 2.73%. Two forces are driving the bounce: a sector-wide lift as U.S. Hyperscaler Tech Index Rises 0.72% to 95.83 on... and oversold buying after META flushed to $524.49 on Aug 2nd. With P/E Ratio TTM 21.055, Mkt Cap $1424.51B, P/E Ratio LFY 23.798, the move shows value rotation back into mega-cap social.

Looking at the broader picture, META has completed a full correction cycle: From $686.08 top on July 16th, it dropped 23.5% to $524.49 by Aug 2nd, breaking the uptrend that lasted since June. The July 16th-28th downtrend saw META lose $160 in 12 days, then base around $524-560 until Aug 14th. The Aug 14th-19th lower high at ∼$585 was rejected, forming a lower high before this week's higher low.

On the technical side, the real story is the MA reset. On the 4h chart, MA5 is at $552.96, MA10 at $549.89, and MA30 at $575.43. Price at $559.18 trading above MA5 and MA10 but still 2.8% below MA30 indicates a short-term reversal attempt while medium-term remains under pressure, with MA30 at $575.43 acting as key resistance. The 4h range between $546.36 and $561.39 is 2.73%, tight after high volatility. The MACD(12,26,9) with MACD: 0.11, DIF: -10.42, DEA: -10.54, shows a bullish crossover attempt - MACD turning positive while DIF crosses above DEA from deeply negative, similar to the early August bottom that marked $524.49.

META is experiencing dynamics similar to other hyperscalers, with AI capex concerns offset by advertising resilience creating a balanced setup. The U.S. Hyperscaler Tech Index up 0.72% is helping offset prior selling.

Other mega-caps are performing mixed compared to META's +1.68% today: MSFT +0.82% and AAPL +0.31% show software stabilizing alongside META.

The common denominator is that rising Reels monetization, increased AI-driven ad targeting, and potential new Llama model updates are supporting the thesis, but the rejection at $686.08 remains strong resistance. The $549.89 MA10 level will be critical to hold for continuation toward $561.39.

For those following META directly through Gate Stocks, the key point is that this bounce was driven by dip-buying from $524.49 and short-covering into $559.18. Sustainability depends on Nasdaq stability and META holding above $552.96. Details of upcoming hyperscaler index moves and ad spend data in the coming days will be the most critical developments in determining whether this bounce at $559.18 is a higher low before a retest of $575.43.
