#ENA
Ethena (ENA) has moved into a very different short-term structure. Current market data places ENA around $0.15, with today's range extending roughly from $0.132 to $0.165. Market data also shows about $1.35B in 24-hour trading volume, while another live derivatives tracker reports roughly $2.24B of volume and around $102M in open interest. The important point is that participation has expanded dramatically alongside the price recovery.
The recent move is especially notable because ENA was trading near much lower levels earlier in the summer. Current exchange data shows the token has gained roughly 80% over the past seven days, meaning this is no longer a small technical bounce. The market has repriced ENA rapidly, and after a move of this size the next test is whether buyers can convert momentum into a stable higher-low structure rather than simply extending a vertical candle.
The immediate technical battleground is $0.15. Holding this area would keep the latest breakout structure constructive, while $0.16–$0.165 is the first major supply zone because today's high is already sitting there. Above that, $0.18 becomes the next psychological reference, followed by the $0.20 round-number level. I would consider a sustained move above $0.165 more meaningful than an intraday wick because it would show that sellers around the latest high are being absorbed.
On the downside, $0.14–$0.145 is the first reaction area, followed by $0.13–$0.135. The deeper support zone sits around $0.12–$0.125. These levels matter because ENA has moved so quickly that a retracement toward them would not automatically mean the broader recovery has failed. The more serious warning would be a sustained loss of $0.12 after the market has already established itself above the previous range.
Derivatives are becoming one of the biggest risk factors. Live data shows open interest around $102M, with open interest up roughly 46% over 24 hours, while funding remains close to neutral. That combination is interesting: leverage is increasing rapidly, but traders are not yet showing an extreme one-sided funding imbalance. If price continues higher while funding stays relatively balanced, the rally has healthier characteristics than a move driven entirely by crowded longs.
Liquidations and liquidity should still be treated carefully after such a fast expansion. The latest tracker records more than $2M of ENA liquidations over 24 hours. With open interest rising quickly, a break above $0.165 could force short positions to cover, while a failure around the same area could create the opposite reaction as late buyers are forced to reduce exposure. This makes the $0.16–$0.165 region a potential volatility trigger rather than simply another resistance line.
Whale activity is mixed but worth watching. Recent data records a whale purchase around $198K near $0.15, while aggregate whale flow on the same tracker is still negative at roughly $7.25M over 24 hours. That tells me the market is not experiencing a clean, universal whale-accumulation signal. There are large buyers participating, but other large wallets are also moving or selling. I would therefore give more weight to sustained price acceptance and volume than to any single whale transaction.
The fundamental catalyst has improved materially. Ethena recently secured a $1B FalconX warehouse-lending facility designed to expand institutional use of USDe, while reports also point to renewed attention from major crypto investors. The lending development is particularly important because it connects Ethena's synthetic-dollar ecosystem with institutional credit demand rather than relying solely on speculative token interest.
The supply side remains the major counterweight. Ethena has 15B ENA total supply, with about 9.83B currently unlocked. Another sizeable unlock is scheduled around September 1–2, with estimates varying by tracker but pointing to a substantial release. That future supply does not automatically mean selling, but it creates a potential overhead supply event just as the token is attempting to establish a much higher valuation.
The broader market is also helping ENA. A strong crypto-wide risk-on environment gives high-beta DeFi assets room to outperform, and ENA is responding aggressively because its market capitalization remains relatively small compared with BTC and ETH. The danger is the same in reverse: if the broader market loses momentum, ENA's leverage and recent vertical appreciation could make its downside reaction disproportionately large.
My bullish scenario is a consolidation above $0.145–$0.15 followed by a clean break through $0.165. If buyers can establish acceptance above that high with strong volume and without an extreme funding spike, $0.18 becomes the next logical resistance area, with $0.20 as the larger psychological test. The key confirmation is a higher low followed by a breakout, rather than chasing a single large green candle.
The bearish scenario begins with repeated rejection around $0.16–$0.165 and a return below $0.14. Losing $0.13–$0.135 would weaken the short-term momentum structure further, while a sustained break below $0.12 would seriously challenge the current recovery. The upcoming token unlock also becomes more important if price is already weakening because additional supply arriving during a failed breakout can increase selling pressure.
For me, ENA has one of the more interesting momentum-versus-supply battles in the current altcoin market. Institutional utility around USDe is improving, trading activity has exploded and derivatives positioning is expanding, but the rally has become fast enough that volatility should be expected. The cleanest structure would be ENA holding $0.15, building support, and then reclaiming $0.165. Failure to do that would make a deeper consolidation much more likely, especially with the next supply event approaching.
