BTC + ETH Rebound: My Daily Trading Framework
Bitcoin and Ethereum have just delivered a powerful rebound, but after a move this aggressive, the next decision is more difficult than the first one.
Bitcoin pushed toward $70,000, while Ethereum recovered toward the $2,250–$2,300 area. The move was accelerated by heavy short liquidations, with reports showing roughly $2.74 billion in crypto shorts liquidated within 24 hours. BTC briefly traded near $69.7K, while ETH moved above $2,200.
That tells me one thing immediately: momentum has changed, but confirmation is still required.
On the 1-day timeframe, BTC is approaching a major decision zone around $70K. This is not simply another round number. After weeks of consolidation, breaking above this area could represent a meaningful change in market structure. Some current technical analysis places the next measured-move area around $71.3K, while the 200-day EMA is reported near $71.5K, making the $70K–$71.5K region an important resistance cluster.
My BTC framework is therefore based on the reaction, not the candle.
If BTC can close strongly above $70K and then successfully retest $68K–$69K as support, the breakout becomes much more convincing. In that scenario, I would watch approximately $71.3K, followed by $72K–$75K as the next upside zones.
But if BTC rejects $70K and starts closing back below $68K, I would expect the market to digest the recent move. A deeper pullback toward $65K–$66K would not automatically destroy the broader rebound; it would simply mean that the market needs more time to establish a new support structure.
Ethereum is showing even stronger relative momentum.
ETH has moved from below $2,000 to around $2,250, with the $2,300 region now becoming an important psychological barrier. The fact that ETH has outperformed BTC during the rebound makes the ETH/BTC relationship especially important to watch. Recent market data also showed ETH gaining significantly as the overall crypto market capitalization expanded sharply.
For ETH, I would watch $2,200–$2,250 as the first important support area and $2,300 as the immediate breakout level.
A daily close above $2,300 followed by a successful retest could open the way toward $2,400–$2,450, with $2,500 becoming the next major psychological target.
However, the biggest mistake after an 18% type of move is assuming that every pullback is bearish or every green candle must be bought.
A strong market can pull back without becoming bearish.
In fact, a controlled retracement can make the next move healthier because it removes excessive leverage and gives spot buyers an opportunity to establish support.
My trading framework
BTC: I would prefer confirmation above $70K or a controlled retest of $68K–$69K rather than chasing a vertical move.
ETH: I would watch the $2,300 breakout and whether $2,200–$2,250 can hold during any pullback.
Bullish confirmation: Higher daily lows, strong volume on rebounds, and successful retests of former resistance.
Warning signal: Rejection from resistance followed by heavy volume and loss of the breakout zones.
Invalidation: If BTC loses the major support structure and ETH fails to hold its reclaimed levels, I would step back and wait for a new setup rather than forcing a trade.
The recent liquidation event is also important. More than $2.7B in short positions were reportedly liquidated, meaning a significant amount of forced buying has already occurred.
That is why I am bullish on the structure but cautious about chasing the current expansion.
The first phase of the move was driven partly by short covering.
The next phase needs to be driven by real demand and sustained acceptance at higher prices.
So my plan is simple:
Do not FOMO into the strongest candle.
Let BTC prove $70K can become support.
Let ETH prove $2,300 can become support.
If they do, the continuation setup becomes much stronger.
If they fail, patience becomes the position.
The market does not reward traders for entering first.
It rewards traders who manage risk when they are right.
What is your plan after this rebound — breakout confirmation, pullback entry, or waiting for a deeper reset?
