📉 Bitcoin's surge triggered a record wave of short-selling liquidations

In the past 24 hours, nearly $3 billion worth of positions were forcibly closed on the crypto market. Shorts accounted for approximately $2.7 billion, while Bitcoin alone saw liquidations reach $1.42 billion.

💰 The market received additional support from an influx into US spot Bitcoin ETFs: on August 19, the funds attracted $517 million, the highest amount since early May.
Against this backdrop, Bitcoin approached $70,000. Ethereum gained 17.7% in 24 hours, and Solana gained more than 11%.

My ETH View

ETH has shown even stronger momentum, with the recent move around +18%.

Now the $2,300 area becomes very important. If it turns into support and ETH breaks $2,400, the next levels I’m watching are:

🎯 $2,500
🎯 $2,700–$2,800
🎯 $3,000 as the bigger bullish milestone

$70,000 and a Record Short Squeeze: The Beginning of a New Bitcoin Bull Cycle or a Bull Trap?

Bitcoin surpassed the $70,000 mark on August 20, with the asset's 24-hour gain exceeding 9%. According to crypto YouTuber Crypto Rover, this could be called the largest short squeeze in market history—traders betting on a decline were forced to close their positions amid a sharp price rise.
